Savings: 1X,XXX
Debt: None. I'm paying half my uni now, parents paying the other half. Then I pay them back when I have a proper job. That includes TB, but parents keep saying they don't expect me to pay anything back.
Assets: Stuff I'm willing to sell? Not much. NCA mostly includes computers, internet and phone courtesy of parents. Not much otherwise... need to spin my money round the share market some time...
Job: Pathetic part time job where I get barely any money per week. Need another job. BADLY! My cash flow is horrible! So many expenses keeping my cash from the bank!

Parents give me money to study (opportunity cost of having a job).
There's not really much of an opportunity cost of having a job a few hours a week, that won't affect your study much. Even might help you in the future as it forces you to organise your time.

Good luck putting that on a resume.

I agree. I work with heaps of year 12 students who do either Saturday morning OR afternoon only. I was one of them, it worked really well for me.

I do not see HSC as being prohibitive for having a job. Do you plan on having a job throughout uni?

But then again, if my parents were going to give me $200 a week for just studying, thats a pretty good deal.

I feel really weird about the fact people are willing to lay out their financial situation for the internet people.

My 'rents generally treat it as private thing.

I suppose people could track you down.... if they wanted to.

I personally just keep details vague :)

Loans: HECS (will work out at $30 000+, more like $40 000+).

... but all my money will be blown on a trip to Europe next year so check back with me next April and it'll be "Money in Bank: -$1000".
