even though it was about this in 2008, the cutoff isn't usually this low. a lot of people found this year's paper abnormally hard (including me). i'd say historically, the cutoff has been more like 70-75%.lyounamu said:oh wait, sorry. it was intended for mx1.

You know the one thing that I still don't understand about the system is that why does the Board of Studies align marks? I understand why they scale and moderate them, but I can't see any apt reason for aligning marks. No offense to anyone who got a mark beyond their expectations, but aligning is just like giving marks to people who don't deserve them.sirfeathers said:even though it was about this in 2008, the cutoff isn't usually this low. a lot of people found this year's paper abnormally hard (including me). i'd say historically, the cutoff has been more like 70-75%.

The aligning process is designed so that no one is advanataged or disadvantaged from having a harder/easier exam compared to other years. In other words it tries to ensure that marks are somewhat comparable between different years.Dragonmaster262 said:You know the one thing that I still don't understand about the system is that why does the Board of Studies align marks?
