It's the same with me, I'm Assyrian, and you'll never see an Assyrian talk with such a vile tongue to his parents. However, if that ever happens, you can bet the parent will whip off his/her thong and beat the living daylights out of them.

In reply to sien (i think i've told this story before), when i was 8 or 9, i was playing soccer with my bro and my uncle in the backyard, and my uncle kept helping my brother and so i screamed at him "You fcking cheater!!".
My dad literally dragged me to my room and beat the fucking daylight out of me.
Have never swore in front of my parents again.

I was told that there was this one maths tutor named Keith in Bankstown who apparently hits his students with a cane and farts on his students. When ppl's parents ring him up to see how their kids are going in maths tutor, he'll hold a grudge against you and "torture you" somhow

Okay, it's quiet conflicting however, I mean, when does discipline cross this fine line and become physical abuse? Just a point for ponder.

I was tutored in primary school, but not at all during high school. I don't think it makes that much of a difference tbh.
Didnt get tutored In Primary School, Didnt get tutored from yr 7-10, Got tutor in Year 11, Didnt get a tutor in year 12. Didnt get a tutor in undergraduate bachelor degree, didnt get a tutor in Masters degree. I think it makes a huge difference personally. A good tutor/experienced teacher will direct you to whats important rather than be inefficient with time.

Reflecting back on it, I would have been a better student for sure, if I had tutoring. (or gone to some sort of weekend/after class tutoring).

I used to get Engineering assignments , maths worksheets and have no idea where to start...........with a tutor they just direct you to the relevant formulas, material, etc. I kind of wished that websites like StudentVIP , tutorfinder etc were available back in my day. I lacked study technique as well.

Also from experience, statistics will tell you, the group performance will always outweigh the individual performance. Just from my experience (provided that you have a collaborative group) working together. I think they feed off each other, I also had a piss weak study group and was anti-social, which meant I was an individualistic person.

If you have a good teacher in the high school setting that will counter the effects of having no tutor or bad tutor in a way.

I've see kids call their parents bitches, fgts etc
Wtf.... yea i admit i can be a sarcastic cunt to my parents sometimes when i talk back (out of anger) , i never insulted my own parents especially calling them names like that. Those fkheads need their ass beat till it's parallel to the ground. Thing is it's usually non azn kids talking like that.
Legit 'time outs' 'grounding' is the most ineffective forms of discipline. What is it teaching exactly? Even when i was beat as a child, i sometimes still had that last shred of 'i was right, they were wrong' notion in me. Just imagine if my parents used white ppl discipline methods on me, i would be the most self-righteous dumbass till this day. If violence is wrong way to discipline kids, what is the right way to go? There is no other discipline that is effective like getting your ass beat.

Jesus christ I wasn't going to respond to this shit but c'mon can't you see how dumb you guys sound when you generalise things like this????? Stop being so ignorant and realise that there are MUCH better ways to discipline / change behaviour.

We as humans are all different, we are affected by things differently as a result (play of genetics and environment). So smacking a child might have either a positive effect (like apparently it had on you) or a negative effect. Don't be naive and think smacking a child results in good things all the time. Sometimes getting smacked doesn't do shit, the kid still can turn out to be an asshole.

I have my own anecdotal evidence but it doesn't mean shit because like I said it varies from person to person (just like yours doesn't).

Not just asian parents beat their kids?? Most of the older generations beat their kids. At least in my family.

See this blog about methods of changing your kid's behaviour WITHOUT beating them.
