I mean 4 cyclinder??

Since like V6 = 6 cyclinder
you get inline 4s..

V6 = 6 cylinders.. but in the shape of a V; or you can get an inline 6

or you can have W16, which is 16 cylinders in the shape of a W

the V or W before the number just means the shape they're positioned in

you can also get V5s

Well actually volkwagon make a V4 but its such a narrow angle that both banks have the same head - two V4s forming a W8....

for any1 interested, made it to Surfers in 11 hours [ 10 if you include the 1 hour time difference!] so not bad, i didnt speed that much, just a constant speed slightly above 110 got me here in 1 peice. Yeah its really cool, can drive without P's, can drive at 110 [no speed restrictions] everyone is nice

didnt make a new top speed unofrtunatelt :(

anyways iam at pacific fair right now, dunno where the hell it is, somewhere between surfers and miami i think 0_o

and no i didnt log on to check BoS, i was trying to look for my offers, but didint know what time they were released [ 9pm nsw time :(]

The "W" configuration refers to the fact that there are two (in this case, V8) engines bolted together and running along a common crankshaft. However, your shape analogy also has much merit :)

Engines can be:

Inline = I
V shaped = V
W shaped = W
Flat/Boxer = F/B
Rotary = R

And pretty much any number could concievably follow these designations. However for engineering reasons certain numbers follow certain designations eg a certain number of cyclinders are best in certain configurations for balance reasons.

eg It is impossible to balance a straight 8 however a 90 degree V8 is balanced. Likewise a I6 always pushes in one direction however a 60 degree V6 is balanced. Conversly a V4 can't be balanced but a I4 is.

Hahahh well i have a new one.

Just south of gerringong, north of nowra, 210 muyahaha

stright bit of road, nice, trees and shit around.

Its usually busy but i foudn my self with no cars around so i though, yeah why not, and i floored it.

i feel so evil.

I think i could have pushed it to 220 but there was a car up ahead so i slowed down.

Our car supposedly only goes up to 220, but i recon it would easily go faster than that (2003/4 Ford Fairlane) its a big powerful car.

Hheheh there were no cars behind me so i took my foot of the accelorter and let the car go back down to 60 while the other car kept going and decided to try again, but the road got windy by this point.

yup that would be the one.

yeah having only one lane each way shits me to hell.

This morning i got stuck behind 5 cars all going 90 the whole way.

They were too close together for me to overtake them one at a time

But too far apart for me to overtake all of them in one go without having a head on collision with some oncoming traffic.

Like fucking hell.. talk about inconsiderate.

And when the mini overtaking lanes came (you know the ones that go for like 20m ) up NONE of them would go to the left.

Its times like that i wish i had a 4WD so i could have just gone bush.

Sigh.

lol

those bays are turning bays or merger lanes arent they?

they arent meant for overtaking :p

oh, and we went down to culburra around NYE and could only manage 80km/h (boat trailer had 'square' tyres) :(

we felt so slack to everyone behind that we stopped every now and then to let them past

Wow Pierotte, you're pretty hardcore. Maybe you'll end up in one of those car fatality photographs up on Rotten or Ogrish. Well done, honey.

Hhaha. I think the road safety people at the RTA would collapse and give up if they read this thread.
