Last week I redlined my car through 2nd and 3rd getting away from some abusive nut who was following me, doing 130 in a 50 zone.

Fastest I've gone was between heathcote and wollongong, doing 175. My car wouldn't go any faster. I had to get home. Can't remember why now. (Oh, and it was ~3am - no traffic around).

I didn't know dis was possible, since its a 1.5L V4 .. umm I'd fink its top speed would be like 120 .. cuz I had a excel 1.5 before and yeah top speed around 120-125 ish .. it was a shitbox
lol anyways, did 160 on the way bak from panthers .. on the m4

someone obviously has no idea what they are talking about, for starters u cant have a "v4" and secondly of course a toyota echo could get upto 160+ easily, with new cars having overhead cams, possibly even a twin cam and fuel injection are all contributors.

Don't get back in a car. The Ps test is disturbingly easy. You shouldn't be allowed on the road if you've failed it 7 times.

I was still accellerating, I still had enough under the VW to get to 270-280ish...

I would have thought that VW, being part of the VAG, would be similar to Audi, and Mercedes and BMW in having a 250 limiter.

not sure if my friend tweaked it or not, but he put a turbo in his VW and he could get past 250

i had a 1.6L '82 corolla and i got upto 160 going down a hill and 140 on the flat.

turbo is standard in the 'new' GOLF? well.. not in the 1.6L version lol

unless you're referring to Golf R32 or the Gti?

A turbo would have required some ECU modding to work properly and as a matter of course the speed limiter would have been removed at this time.
