Re: The Football Thread : 2005-06

The team we fielded was shithouse anyway, with only about 4 players who'd be in the starting 11 if we were at full strength, and while I agree with you LMF it's still disappointing to be knocked out so early.

Sad fo the fanz, good fo the manager.

Like Paul Jewell said, they got bigger fish to fry. But I think thatz wrong, fanz want trophiez, not just to stay in the Premier League.

Re: The Football Thread : 2005-06

Chelsea are linked wit so many wingerz, Joaquin and Simao. How many wingerz do they wanna have...? SWP costed em 20mil and hez warmin the bench. By far the most expensive bench warmer in football.

Liverpool might make a move fo Victor, now hez a decent player, significantly cheaper az well.

FA cup results from last night , mman utd and livo through. Vidic made his debut and was apparently very solid and commanding, even chipped in with an assist.

New season already? Aye, plenty to go in this season yet! Good to see Aloisi score a double last night, but I still have no idea why he joined that shitarse club.

Seeing as its 2006/7 thread already... Anyone game enough to guess relegation and promotion spots? Mine are Reading, Sheff Utd, Leeds to come up, and its too hard to see Sunderland, Portsmouth and Birmingham staying up.

fuck that's hardly a prediction - the teams who are top 3 and bottom 3

well, at the satrt of the season i had pomey, sunderland and wigan to go down
and leeds, wolves and sheffield united to come up

now, well, i'd have to say reading are a shoe in as they are unberaten in like 2-something matches. and it is a mark of wenger's youngsters that they played reading off the park in a 3-0 league cup match about 2 months ago. this team is top quality. in fact they have a bunch of arsenal rejetcs, and one in particular steve sidwell, a centre midfielider...well you well all know about when reading get up. he's a good quality. plus they've got a few goal scoring supremoes up front including young kevin doyle and leroy lita

so they look the goods.

but i reckon leeds can squeeze into that 2nd position ahead of their yorkshire counterparts and secure automatic promotion. that would leave sheffield needing to go through the playoffs and often teams who slip away and have to go through the playoffs muff (and sheffidl have muffed it like 5 seasons in a row) and so i would have to favour crystal palace in a playoff situation. in fact, that's a verry good reason why i am hoping leeds will make 2nd as palace are a high pressure team and they would be a good bet to be the team that tets through from the 2-6 playoffs

prem, well the makems are gone, and i think harry has brought in too mnay playes (6 all starting!!!) and may take too long to gell to together, so thye can go as well

but i tell ya, i think their are 19 epl quality teams this year and the rest are 'too good to go down"
i mean for me, charlton should be in about 19 and i think they are worse than most

but fuck i thik this could be the year for the north-east to forget

could it be a trio??? what odds would you get for that do you reckon?

sunderland, boro and n'castle all to go down

I found thiz quite amusin.

THE SUN

# Celtic were about to bring Roy Keane on as a substitute in Saturday's clash with Dundee United to close a 3-1 win - Keane went to the toilet and when he returned it was 3-3 and Gordon Strachan opted not to bring him on.
