Re: What is your study routine?

I do homework/read over some stuff I didn't understand during the day. Then I study for one subject per day only (I like focusing on one subject at a time) for 2-3 hours in the afternoon. Then free time. Then when it's late I get ready for school and maybe skim-read a book or revision guide for fun before I got to sleep.

It will be interesting to see who really take their plans into action.

I guess UAI will be the proof of that to some extent.

Oh bull. You shouldn't do 8 hours a day regardless of what subjects you do, that'll stress you out even more.
The golden rule is DON'T CRAM. EVER. It'll make you freak out and get into the "holy crap I'm gonna fail, my life is ruined" mindset right before your exam and it will impact you in some degree.

Remember, each exam is only about 1 - 3 hrs of your entire life so don't stress over it too much, you'll sit there when your 80 and think "I can't believe got so worked up over a couple of 2 hr exams" So don't be too hard on yourself and NEVER EVER CRAM!!

Home, books out 5 mins, begin study, have dinner while studying. 4 minute 7 seconds shower. Study more until 11:59 30 seconds. Begin sleep 12, finish at 6am. Study for another hour and then go to school. To this every single day.
i do the same except i like a 9 second shower and i don't go to school

You're in Year 10 and your studying 8 hours everyday? I'm currently achieving high rankings in most of my subjects, and 8 hours is mediocre. If you can keep it up, then that's dedication.

Sorry to pop your bubble hun, but im going to say this before anyone else says in an more unorderly fashion, 8 hours a day is "Hard" , notice the inverted commas? Most university kids do not study 8 hours a day, and this is based on many of Med students.

Youll relies thats theres more to life then just study esp when you hit your adult-maturing ages in year 11 and 12. I see tones of kids that do not do this in only study in the gym even, from since i was 12 till 17 atm , still repeating , they come first few weeks , fully pumped up and drinking and working out for 3 hours straight , next week "CBF bro im ALREADY BIG, Ill DO IT WHEN IM BIGGER" , doesnt work like that mate.

Advice , take it easy , work with something that is realistic , no one here appreciates stuck ups that post bullocks (and im not forwarding this at you) , esp if the person cannot even come up to what he is posting.

Goodluck.

P.S to adidasboy: mediocre means 'average'.

p.p.s: MSN and this forum are making me procrastinate severely recently. ><
lol ohh i thought mediocre meant bad or something so i thought he meant you were studying too much. :p

8 hours a day wtf ROFL
i studied max 1 hour a day in year 11 and the days leading up to the exam i would cram a bit, and my results were good.

Exercise, watch tv, eat food or socialise ffs
fkn do something else
studying for 4 hours on weekdays would be suffice if your doing it correctly.
this makes me feel bad :mad1:
8 hours a day is ridiculous, honestly.

Write notes or type notes ?

Which one do most people do when summarising/ making notes ?

Ive been manually writing them all year because i was told that its a scientific fact that your brain processes information better if you physically write out the information rather than type it. I'm not sure how true that is, but my teacher told me.

But i saw someone studying their notes at the library today for current HSC exams and they were typed out with huge heading pages for each section and it looked so professional and well definetely better than written notes.

I dont know, after seeing that im kind of tempted to type up all my notes. It would probably be faster and more organised too, as well as the fact that you can add to it whenever you like and you dont have to white out every second line.

But then i take my notes with me everywhere so when im bored i can just finish off a dot point or two, if i typed it i wouldnt be able to do that.

what do you guys dooo ?

this is really bugging me for some reason
