It's odd how these measures can be passed:
Washington Initiative 1000: Allow Doctor-Assisted Suicide
Michigan Proposition 1: Allow Medical Marijuana
Michigan Proposition 2: Allow Stem Cell Research

These defeated:
Colorado Amendment 48: Human Life from Moment of Conception
South Dakota Initiative 11: Abortion Limits

And then three states ban gay marriage as well as Arkansas banning same-sex couples from adopting.

Those are all fairly liberal ideas above but apparently when it comes to anything to do with homosexuality, people are stubborn and ignorant.

I don't see how this helps society, maybe you think segregation is healthy?

sure

Don't see why you dismissed me as a year 11 though, if its because I'm young and foolish and what not, than perhaps instead dismissing me as a ignorant fool, you should enlighten me show me my ways are wrong.

Then maybe i might grow up to be big, strong conservative like you.

A personal attack and what essentially is a "i cbfed" is not a strong argument

My argument that i'm too busy to argue isnt strong? I'll flesh it out a little:
exams my fren
Why not trawl through Iron's previous posts? I'm sure you'll find sufficient wisdom in them to awaken and set course for the steady seas of conservatism
Actually I intend to have them collated one day into a little iron book which will shake the world

One of the primary reasons Prop 8 was passed here in Cali was in large part do to the very deceptive television ad campagin that was waged.

In particular one ad in which showed an elementary school child coming home and proclaiming to his mother "look mom what I learned in school today", hence proclaiming the fact that gay marriage would be taught to young children in school, which was a lie. This was a malicious attack in a very very hard fought campaign. It's not over though, there will be litigation in the California supreme court, and as well as SF's mayor Gavin Newsom will most likely run for California Governor in the next term, and in the even he wins' I'd say we see this issue again.

And someone mentioned the large Black and Latino/Hispanic turnout which propagated this passage, that is not entirely correct. California has some very large conservative counties including Orange, Riverside, San Diego as well as the Central Valley which went against the proposition. It is true that most Blacks voted for the proposition, however as to Latinos, they are more liberal the younger they get. Only the older generations tend to have conservative viewpoints, and even then they are more liberal than the John McCain voting crazies.

The wording was fucked. I bet half those arse clowns didn't know what they were voting for/against.

Massive step backwards. For those who married while it was legal, it's safe to say the general public wasn't adversely affected by it.

WHERE WAS ARNOLD?

Who cares what does this got to do with us?

It's an American internal issue for Americans to decide themselves.

Because the hope is, if America sets a precedence by allowing homosexual marriages, hopefully other western countries will follow.

Once it has been shown that homosexual marriages cannot possibly interfere with the institution of marriage, hopefully morons will acknowledge that there is no reason to not allow it.
