How long would it take for a judge to be 'selected'?
See going as a judge would not be a career path, I would see it is an achievement, best to be the best barrister or lawyer you can. Becuase of rule of law, Judges are chosen based on Merit.

I would get seek some more info from www.judcom.nsw.gov.au (NSW Judicial Commission) about judges.

No. Anyone who has been admitted as a legal practitioner can be a barrister. You just need to do a reading course followed by an exam.

Go to the Bar Association for more info: www.nswbar.asn.au
