Just so you know, Stamps are still considered legal tender. You are also bound to accept payment in coins, but only up to a specific amount (different for each denomination). If they try giving you more than the set requirement you can demand that they pay in bank notes or other equivalent.

If memory serves the statutory limits are the same as a roll for each coin, which means:

05 = $02 max
10 = $04 max
20 = $04 max
50 = $10 max
$01 = $20 max
$02 = $50 max

I'm not sure though, it's been a while since I checked those figures.

wants to sell?
make sure the desciptions are right - dont use smoke and mirrors in the description to sell ur product, and get proper photos!!
if you talk crap and use crap fotos, it can b misleading and the customer will bound to complain to ebay which would mean a refund, negative feedback and a complaint lodged against your name on the ebay database

and if you know how to use html, then by all means go for it. this way you can host pics for free (instead of getting ebay to display each pic for 30c each i think? first pic if for free).

so yeah - good pictures, good descriptions, good postage price, good terms and conditions and html (if possible)

hope that helps!
let me know if you need more advice

make yourself available

like 'if you have any questions, dont hesitiate to contact me and i will gladly reply within 12 hours'

thats what i do :)
but only say that if you know you can do it!

and yeah - are you new to ebay? coz people r really hesitant to buy things from someone with no feedback

know what i mean?

just look pro. if you can do that you should be fine.

what are you selling?

na, a friend of mine wants to sell jewellery less than $500 type jewellery- and he asked me to help him sell it, since he's got a business running and stuff.....but yeah, i've got no transactions/feedback under my belt at the moment- so u reckon i shuld still try to sell it, or try to build up a reputation and stuff?...i hope u get what i mean. :p

for ebay.com - your on the worldwide market and everything is in US currency - most aussie buyers dont buy from america or overseas as much as national sales (2003 ebay.com.au statistics)

for ebay.com.au, for mostly australian buyers, australian currency, but at the same time, your item will be listed on international ebay sites if you choose to do so, but will be in australian currency

make sure you know how to accept payment or which payment methods you want.

nah its not free..
ebay makes heaps of profits man!

when you list and item, they charge ya from 35cents to $60 AU depending on your options, e.g. which category (more money for popular items) if you want ur listing to be bolded, more money. highlighted, more money

if you dont know how to use html and dont know how to host ur own pictures, you can have a gallery item - each photo costs like 75cents - the first picutre you upload to ebay is for free :)

and yeah, after the sale ends, the seller has to pay approx 5.6% of the final price to ebay

its not much, but think about it. theres like 3 million auctions ending each day.. haha how much money is that?!

yeah paypal fees vary - normally its $2.50US
i'll use direct deposit...
