No. The year of work that B put in to visual arts will count for nothing.
Yes. You don't get either of the advantages I mentioned before. The moderated assessment mark of the student ranked third will be determined completely by the top exam mark and the average exam mark for their class. It could also vary depending on the number of people in the class.Originally posted by instinct
is there much difference/variation tho of being ranked say.... 3 compared to 1? seeing as though there are only 2 positions difference??
If there are two students on the top ranking, their moderated assessment marks will be set equal to the average of the top two exam marks.Originally posted by instinct
another question i thought of.. today i found out that i tied first with this chick in ipt..
what does that mean? what happens if you get equal first for a subject ?? how does that work?
That's correct - so long as her exam mark is one of the top two.Originally posted by -=MLhtʻ=-
so would i correct to say dat if the other chic did better den instinct in the hsc exam, instinct would be on the receiving end?
I started pursuing the technical details when I accelerated computing studies in Year 10 & 11. I read everything I could find and spoke to everyone who thought they knew anything. Most teachers (and students) have their own idea about how the system works. Over time, you can gradually piece together the truth. Most people who know something can also direct you to someone who knows a little bit more. It's taken a lot of intricate searching and a great deal of patience. I still had one or two misconceptions when I sat the HSC exams - and that's after researching the topic for almost three years. Actually, the aim of the original LazSeeker website, before Bored of Studies, was to provide complete and exhaustive explanations of all these types of procedures, mainly because I know how difficult it is to find out actual facts.Originally posted by Big Willy
How do you guys know how the system works?
I've actually read and re-read all of Lazarus' documents on his lazseeker site, before Bored of Studies was up, and also learned the stuff thru my economics teacher (who knows a lot about scaling procedures somehow), so i do kno what im talking about nowOriginally posted by Big Willy
How do you guys know how the system works? especially Minai... where did u get all that info from?
Yes. Difference in assessment marks are important. Here's a strange and probably incorrect explaination:Is there any differences in marks when it comes down to ranks.. for eg: is there much difference if someone comes first by say, 10 marks, to someone who comes first by only 1 mark? if so, whats the difference? is it significant?? or its just the rank which is important...?
