I can only afford to lose 24 marks in both papers to remain above 90 overall. So far I think I've lost 11. FML.

I stuffed up so bad in paper 1. I did not understand text 3 and 4 in unseen texts and had a mind blank during section 2 and 3. Sigh but I guess the good thing about this is that my English trial is only worth 15% of my internals. Is that a good thing? (Note: I'm seriously flunking English)

Well maybe for you not so much, since doing good in the trials could've had a larger effect if it was worth more and thus bring your average up a lot more. But on the other hand, doing bad in the paper will be better for 15% since it doesn't affect you as much. I, for one, wished mine was 15%. Screwed this paper up so badly Dx.

I'm sure you did better than you thought! I'm currently being eaten away by my thoughts since my story didn't relate TOO well to belonging but imo it was well-written :/

Move on and kill paper 2 !

Advanced kids, which of the three quotes did you choose for the creative?

I chose the first one about the draughty coat or something like that. Didn't even know what draughty meant LOL.
I chose the 'hand' one? The one where it was like heal or something.

So for my essay I took 'significant moments in time' as meaning context and wrote about how the composer's contexts influence the understanding of belonging in each of the texts (I still related it back to certain events in the texts though mostly). Am I completely fucked or do I still have some hope of getting an alright mark?

Honestly, I think it should be fine. It all depends on everyone's individual interpretation of "moments" and as long as you kinda define it throughout your essay.

EDIT : E.g. for Skrzynecki, I took migration "moving to poland" as significant moment in time but it's probably more contextually based rather than just one single moment.

Yeah for romulus, I took their migration to Australia and the surfacing of Christina's mania as the significant moments.

Thank you, that makes me feel a lot better!
I had As You Like it as my prescribed text so for example at one point I talked about the destruction of natural order in the play (how this was of importance in Shakespeare's context etc.) and then how that context influences an understanding of belonging in regards to place and society. Hopefully I'll be ok.

15?

I didn't do Catholic, but in my one, I did the creative in a tad over 30 minutes, short answer in about 45 and then essay in 45

What order are you guys planning on doing the modules tomorrow? Also, what would you do if 40 mins is up and you're near the end of the first essay (3 mins left)?

Out of curiosity, what order did you guys do the paper today? I think I was the only person at school to do: Creative, Short Answer, Essay

haha i used like 42 minutes for the short answer, then i did my essay which took about 40 and then the creative which took 35 or so minutes. the other few minutes is the time taken to blow my nose... i hate being sick and having trials
