poly-3-hydroxybutyrateIs it poly-3-hydroxybutanoate or poly-3-hydroxybutyrate??
sorry what is butanoate??butanoate
Actually you are correct when you say they will get the mark as it is written in conquering chem Butanoate and butyrate somewhere else, and essential they are the sameThey say both. If you say either of them, you'll get the mark I imagine. Conquering Chem says "poly-3hydroxybutanoate" (and so does my teacher), but excel and others say poly-3hydroxybutyrate. I think Macquarie also uses butanoate, but don't quote me... Either way, I think you'd be safe using either of them. But, I'll admit, I'm no chemistry genius.
Yeah, I skip the 3 too. I'm not sure if it's necessary. In suggested answers from a Success One HSC book, they say "polyhydroxybutanoate". They actually skip the "3". I'd go for poly-3hydroxybutanoate. Just saying.
Disclaimer: Do not hold me accountable if blah blah blah blah you get the drift
It's not necessary however it wont hurt to know it stillYeah, I skip the 3 too. I'm not sure if it's necessary.
