I was referring to in general as well. Like around the college. Group of second-year Austiners in my lecture today were harping on about how they won outright.

I didn't just watch, I played. I was our resident Man Friday, mostly because the games I specialised in were chosen before we had a go.

We beat EPC in a cricket match so a lot of people like to joke around saying how we won. Some people can be cocky, yes. But all of us posting on this thread aren't, so again I ask, your point of being here is?

Suzie was being far from serious (and cocky) when she gave that post, and you know it. Therefore, I only think it fair that you fuck off. :)

And finally, I sure as hell didn't see any of you down there. I might have been relegated to Man Friday for my squad, but none of you were in the Austin team. Funny how you proclaim "WE WON!!!!" as if you were a part of it as opposed to "OUR TEAM WON!!!!" Then again, in my experience with Austiners, that sort of thing is promoted.
Yes, you're right it is promoted. Austin College is a COMMUNITY. If some do well, we all do well.I fail to see what the problem is here, I thought all colleges would have the same sense of togetherness. I must obviously be mistaken.

And I'll ask of you: what is your point in telling me to fuck off when, as I pointed out (but from now on I'll just assume you don't read my posts) that the forums are public in their nature.

You're right ... but only just. I'm going to award you half points for misreading it (again, common with you). While all the colleges promote a sense of togetherness, they also promote individual values. For us, it's determination, the never-say-die attitude (at least, that's how I see it). Others have loyalty as their main virtue. My point was that in my experience, Austin seems to promote a condescending attitude. Sure, taken at face value, suzieee's comments are innocent. but when you're as jaded as I am (not difficult, I assure you), there's a whole subtext. You see the end of the theatre sports where everyone got up, but I slipped out the side door? It was my team's party and I wasn't going to take the credit for doing nothing. All the Austiners I know - and maybe I seem to be meeting all the bad eggs - probably would have jumped up there when in my position.

Of course, you're all so arrogant that criticism simply bounces off you. The problem in this thread isn't me. It's you. I've already told you how to make me go away, but you've all ignored it. I'm beginning to think you like this (read: losing). I'll give you enough rope to hang yourself, but I expect you to be smart enough not to do so.

To come in here and write the crap that you did was unnecessary, especially on a public forum. I'm sure that everyone who reads this post can see that you have, and probably think of you the same way that I do.

This is the bit where you run off with your tail in between your legs :)

So, now Austin doesn't promote individual values?

"We" praise the five people who got us the (equal) win, and celebrate as a college of our success. "We" don't "steal the spotlight" at all off Kim, Benji, Ali, Neil or Doug, and I'm certain that they would agree with me.

Just because Austin's qualities are different than Duval's does not make either college any better or worse. It's said that you seem to take the college rivalry much too seriously when I can assure you that 99% of Austinites do not.

You're right, the criticism bounces off me...because I'm not going to ignore an offensive post about my college. I'm loyal to Austin, and you should know me well enough by now to know that I'll fight fire with fire. So you can play the game of "ignore my post OR THERE'S WAR!!1~*" with me, but sorry to say, it will not work. And that's just too bad for you, because to be honest, I love it.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but is Man Friday a term for what you would call '13th Man' in cricket?

Wow, and you have the nerve to call me a bitch.
I have a lot of nerve, but I never claimed to be perfect. But it's a valuable life lesson: when you don't know the answer, Google it. Didn't you learn anything at school?

Yes, I did, and you should know that. We did go to the same school after all ;)

And yes, I'd go so far as to call it a 'VALUABLE LIFE LESSON' too...but I'm not the catty one here.

edit: And what the fuck does 'being perfect' fit into this??? It's about the superiority/inferiority of various colleges, not the perfection of them.

That's correct, but you weren't in the same year as me. I cannot guarantee the quality of education I received, let alone the quality of the one you received.

I'm talking about me as a person, not about my college. You called me down on being bitchy, but I - again me, not the college or whatever - never pretended to be anything otherwise.

And being perfect has what to do exactly with being bitchy...?

Got into this uni on UAI alone - not Principal's rec like some other MacKillop students. I think my quality of education in my grade was fine, thanks - probably better than your grade based on our UAIs and final marks (but not essentially, of course).

PS- Google search showed up nothing that answered my question...help a girl out. Come on, descend to my level, oh holy one.
