I am not saying anybodies an angel what I am simply arguing is that the left wing always pretends to care but at the end of the day has no solution to the problem. They want to keep living in the past and keep making the same mistake expecting different results, That is the definition of an idiot.

My biggest problem with the whole establishment is that they keep using government to fix the problem of these people. Don't you see a pattern emerging here? First these government bums take their children away and dispossess their land then they come back a few decades later and act like they'll "fix" the problem by giving welfare and handouts while ignoring the fact that they do nothing but abuse themselves and each other.

That's what government does, They create the problems then they try to become the solution.

It does not work, It never has work and will never ever work.
Playing partisan politics and saying it is one wing that refused to put forward any solutions is absolute nonsense, both the left and the right have put forward solutions and both have poked holes in each others solutions.

As for your views on government I don't accept them either, I think the governments actions in the past have been wrong, I do not think that means government interference is tainted.

I used the term "communities" deliberately.
So people who haven't actually been harmed should be paid compensation?

You'll one day come to learn that governments solution is as horrific as the problems they cause.
Stick to relevant examples about the issue being discussed or stfu. Your generalized rantings about the evil of government proves nothing.

Lentern what are you talking about? What indigenous labour do you keep referring to? If you are referring to Abos working on sheep and cattle stations as labourers then i really dont know what you mean because they were paid moneys for their work. That was back in the days when 95% still lived in their traditional manner.

Also i was under the impression that some north WA and arhnem land communities were under the governance of tribal law etc etc. This results in people being speared in the thigh for disrespect etc lol

Fuck you're out of touch man. They're well aware of what is available to them, and they're well aware of how to access it. They just can't be fucked.

I've seen it.
I promised Fr Laurrie I wouldn't use the word that accurately describes my impression of you.

Your dozen encounters do not translate into substance, let alone from someone who has been undisguised in her contempt for indigenous Australians and I reiterate, you can't tell someone how to live their life to it's potential, all you can do is make sure the opportunities are there and make sure they are as equipped as we possibly can make them to utilise these opportunities when they so desire.

To borrow a line from one of my more articulate friends "you may have seen it but you saw it through one eye."

I think it's fair to say the damages have had a ripple effect and go on to indirectly effect entire communities.

(a) They were legally meant to be paid, the reality was not so and
(b) They were paid 66% of the award.

Hold on, I was under the impression you lot were calling us the hole pokers. declaring every answer unworkable. My observation is that any solution that costs a taxpayer something is declared unworkable by yourself. The wages which were not paid for indigenous labour which was for the large part completed as it ws there only way of accessing the land in which they held inextricable religious connections to.
Fucking lol.

So how about we also pay everybody else in history who wasn't paid for work?

If we can't tell them, they should shut the fuck up and stop complaining about how hard they have it. Especially when the reality is, there are
a. Aboriginal only medical centres
b. Aboriginal only legal centres
c. Aboriginal only jobs
d. Aboriginal only scholarships
e. A myriad of other Aboriginal things that BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION EXIST, BUT THEY'RE TOO STUPID TO ACCESS THEM

What the fuck else do you want? Seriously?

The only thing that can help them now IS THEIR OWN DESIRE TO BE HELPED. By your own admission WE can't tell them how they should do it, and I sure as shit don't support just giving them large amounts of money BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY DON'T DO WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO WITH IT.

Seriously, it's like you want us all to stand around and lament about how bad they have it. Won't fix shit!

You just said the smarest thing in this thread without realising the implications

"you can't tell someone how to live their life to it's potential, all you can do is make sure the opportunities are there and make sure they are as equipped as we possibly can make them to utilise these opportunities when they so desire."

We can't tell them - that is true and the biggest part of the problem and needs to be addressed.

All you can do is provide opportunities - Dont you agree that ample opportunities are afford the average aboriginal?

make them utilise these opportunities when they so desire - Biggest part of the problem, they aren't utilising them.

Edit: i hate it when cunts beat me to stuff :(

How many of these slave labour farm hands are still alive, eh?

And how do you propose we prove their identities?

Have you ever considered that instead of responding to a rewording of what I say that spins it to seem to be what it is not, you respond to watch I actually say. I will say what I have said before, you can't push them into making a decision, we can only keep the opportunities open, open up more where it is possible and redouble efforts to make these opportunties as accesssible as possible. In your rants I see no desire to rectify the problem, indeed you appear as though you would take far more satisfaction in placing them all upon a crowded leaking boat and then washing your hands.

Well you think government has the solution then tell me what is the solution that they have offered?

Aboriginals get lots of welfare, They get priority in the education system, They get free housing, They have all sorts of entitlements being thrown at them left, right, front and centre and yet they live a life worse than the average Zimbabwean.

Show me a solution that works?

Straight off the bat, they aren't all utilising them, some are, in my opinion an incresing number are. I agree that ample are yes,I don't think we are at the optimum point yet however.

Well my friend here is the slight dillemma, I actually think improving the status quo is a good thing, indeed that it is desirable so I don't see the point in you and I squabbling over how best to solve the problem when we both want different solutions, you want to make matters worse for them so you can feather you own nest, me being the bleeding heart socialist that I am are more worried about improving the lives of those whose lives have more room for improvement. But you STILL haven't offered solutions that they have no already tried (and for substantial periods of time, many of them).

Offer us a feasible SOLUTION.

I have on numerous occasions said what I think should be done and that it isn't as a quickfix because there is no quickfix. Opportunities are as plentiful as possible and as accesssible as possible and no judging from the sidelines if they opt not to take them straight away.
