we need to refresh the poll.

very inaccurate...think about it.

some lefty probably made 6 accounts here just to vote for Rudd..same with Howard too. I say...refresh!
If anything it's the other way around. I voted undecided in the hay day of the Beezer when it looked like he'd take a terrific whomp

Ofcourse Rudd doesn't like his horse wife...the strip joint is a good place to erase his wife's body and image for a while..
This has been so overdone by the media it's rediculous, A: why should his private life matter, we are talking about politics here, there are bigger issues at hand. and B: Strip clubs in the US are far more socially acceptable than here in Australia so it wouldnt have been like going to a seedy strip club here in Australia.

He was a representative of Australia at this conference, sent there on the public purse, so it's not a private matter.

The problem is him being christain, not touching strippers. Did he even touch them?
The Christian reaction i've heard has been pretty minor. Ive basically heard surprisingly fair talk about human imperfection etc etc.
To my knowledge, Rudd has never claimed to be a saint. His 'socialist Christianity' has focused on putting Christianity into action; feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and visiting the lonely. Howard's Christianity is closer to the pious, self-righteous, uncompassionate fire and brimstone stuff.

I find it hard to believe that it will be good for him, but agree that it wont make much difference. THis government is gooowne

The Government is definitely not gone. Despite the polls and all, those betting places (the names escape me now) show that the Liberals would win an election held now, and for past elections, these betting places have been shown to be more reliable than polls - AC Nielsen or otherwise.

And as for Kevin Rudd touching those strippers - I recall reading somewhere that he didn't - but I can't remember the source.

Support for the government in the betting markets collapsed a couple of weeks ago.

Yes, you're right. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was because one person put a $50000 bet on Labor.

What evidence is there that "Howard's Christianity is closer to the pious, self-righteous, uncompassionate fire and brimstone stuff?"

This government is not gone. The odds are currently about 60 - 40 against it. It still has a very good chance. Labor still needs to win 16 seats!
Howard clearly brands himself as conservative Christian, which emphasises a strong work ethic. Im not knocking that. I was pointing out that you cant label Rudd as a hypocrite because he demonstrated human error. He preaches human fallibility. The government worked this out and resisted all temptation to touch it.

Secondly, your attitude is shameful. This government is out, and any dissent to this fact seriously risks another Coalition term. Labor need a uniform of around 3%, or 150,000 targeted swingers in marginals
He'll bolt it in.

P.S, has anyone else got the t-shirt? I know I have.

Rudd's final IR plan

It's shit, stops the rate engineers are making money
"The federal opposition's industrial relations plans announced today are nothing more than window dressing and will severely damage the economy, says the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI)."
wait, so first the plan is just window dressing, and then the plan is going to screw the economy. *decides against making bad pun about curtains*
but we all know how balanced and objective the ACCI are so they must be right...
