The debate was not gagged, it was not a debate at all.

Scavenger Hunts - Fun for all!

On a private student forum for UWS there were some comments made in a thread by a couple of females that they weren't happy that when they opened up the university newspaper they were often met by photo's of gay people kissing all throughout. The 'offical uws queer officer' then hopped on the...

It is getting hard to justify...

No I have pointed out that most terrorists consider imperialism as one of their reasons for taking out their actions. Therefore when someone is voicing such anti-imperialist views, you should investigate further to see if they have further terrorist views. Someone who is anti-imperialism and...

It is getting hard to justify...

Does it matter if it benefits the government? Without showing that they somehow played a hand in orchestrating this media event it's hard to say their benefits are not justified. The problem being that many of these people are terrorist sympathises and you also realise this. They see the...

It is getting hard to justify...

Why? The government had no problem what so ever in passing their terrorism laws, there was alot of media fuss about it but most polls have shown the Australian public strongly supports them. See my first comment. The media is always present when such things happen... there were 400...

    Where do you stand?

I agree with you that in both young libs and young labor they stand for different causes than their senior parties do. At the same time I think it's wrong to claim because everyone turns out left on the poorly designed political compass, that most Australians would be left. The political...

    Where do you stand?

Nah I don't think that's true. When you ask people about their general principles, they are usually more idealistic and nice. But when it comes to these principles being applied to a real life situation, their priorities change.

Alot of refugees are fleeing from the state, do you expect them to go up to some government office (if one actually exists) and get all their paper-work sorted out? The people who do have all their documentation etc are the oppressors, the people who are oppressed in these countries do not have...

    Where do you stand?

The problem is that it asks questions about general principles, not about specific situations

lol but that's not justice at all... You cannot simply lock people up for such long periods of time, and tell them that you're "processing their charges".

    Where do you stand?

No, that's impossible. The main things that have changed since before are simply my views towards the free-market, corporations responsibilities etc. It's quite possible that I just check 'Strongly Disagree / Agree' more often than you I guess.

The problem being that the refugee's have not been... a) Charged with a crime. OR b) Told why they are not a legitimate refugee.
