UNSW O Week 2014 chat thread

Come to think of it, maybe they steal everything from UNSW, including some fun.

Lol. Half the stuff won't apply to you because of Physics and Chem and you aren't ready to estimate an ATAR yet. And just listen in and do work in English. It will be worth it more to do the work than to read the thread.

    Year 11 2014 Chat :)

Put them into vector components, so that you set one direction as positive, one direction as negative. So a) asks us to put it into relative terms of train B. So we assign the direction of train B as positive (west). Now since train A is moving east at 13 m/s, we can say that it is travelling...

UNSW O Week 2014 chat thread

The USyd students only go to UNSW to steal the ideas for their clubs and societies :p But probably some go here and there because of old friends and stuff from HS.

I thought you would have already known this and read my full story here: http://community.boredofstudies.org/461/atar-hsc-marks/318714/estimating-your-raw-marks-hsc-low-ranking-schools-estimating-your-atar-d.html It is a bit long, but the marks are in there somewhere.

I made up about 20 pages in my eco exam. Only just squeezed in a Band 4. So basically, you can't bullshit through 90% of subjects.

No. In my school the class finished everything for the tests (half the courses) only a few days before half-yearlies. I finished a week before that to get some good study in, as I used the summer holidays wisely to get ahead in Maths, Physics and Chem.

Stress relief plus I had fun in that class. Also, it was an ok backup as for trials I didn't study but got 80%, almost the same for Chem (but stricter marking).

I think OP is doing HSC now. So this would help OP next year instead.

What car? Could be good though I will tell you the pros and cons if I know them about that car.

    Mentally washed out...?

Find an activity to calm you down. Personally I used sports as a form of relaxation and even meditation away from studies. I played soccer throughout HSC and for a long time now with a club which would give me the opportunity to experience something new every week. I do bike riding as a...

    Electrical engineering

Just see how you go this year. I guess by asking us you can't really do much at the moment. All that this thread can help you with, is on a decision to stick to electrical engineering or not. If you have a deep interest in Maths and Physics then you could still have motivation to do the course.

Vote this to be stickied. Thanks for them last year Nerd and I am sure many others will use them effectively this year and beyond!

'You do NOT meet the requirements to receive an ATAR this year.'

Speak to your school's principal. I believe they have a certain amount in responsibility in ensuring your eligibility for an ATAR.

Keep on going with it and learn it all asap. However, you can use past-papers as a great way to learn new content. So you may actually be able to learn that extra content you haven't done yet by doing some past paper work.

    Electrical engineering

In first year you do quite a bit more math than other engineering degrees. COMP1917 and ELEC2141/1112 for UNSW (and the computer/electrical related subjects in first year at other unis) increase the math workload a little as these require more math based skills and a few applications of...

That's the reason why the notes should be consolidated in holiday study and nearly finished now (I had my half-yearlies at the end of term 2 so it was ages away for me).
