    Mistake in exam question!!

You are correct in this sense, however you will be surprised how there are many more unnoticeable loopholes in many school maths papers compared to uni maths or even the HSC. Like there are cases in exams where they will forget to say one word that could possibly end up putting people in your...

    Mistake in exam question!!

You are right in that sense as there are many solutions. Lol how is that even possible if it was done and dusted last year. All (or most) of the students are in uni now :p

Does a student have to be ranked first to get a B6 in a terribly ranked school?

Well we had 3/10 in Physics get a B6 last year and our school ranking was similar. Then again only 3 people actually stayed the full 3 hours to finish the exam and the rest left early after about 2 hours :haha:

what is flexible first year engineering?

What is confusing? I would say that he doesn't need to worry for another year until when putting down UAC preferences. But still, knowing now wouldn't hurt.

what is flexible first year engineering?

You do all the common courses that all engineers have to do in first year (so MATH11X1, MATH12X1, PHYS11X1, a computing course of which there are a few to choose but you only pick one, ENGG1000). Then you have space to do an additional 3 courses, of which you will need to decide that will...

    Serie and sequencesss

Let x = 2.818181... Multiply x by 100. You get 281.81818... Now take away 2.8181818.... = x from 100x You get 99x = 279 Therefore we get x = 279/99 (simplify it in calculator or whatever). If you have one digit recurring, then you multiply by 10, 2 digits recurring multiply by 100, 3...

Post Your 2014 Sem 2 Timetable

Yeah the Elsoc ones also went on during that same time slot last sem. Well there is ENGG1000 lectures on the Thursday and from what I've heard I can usually leave earlier. Might do it, but don't want to end up not being with mates as I tend to learn more from the group discussions too. Also, it...

good at science but bad at maths

I don't know how you can call the stuff in HSC Chemistry or Physics as maths. Period. To be clear, what I just said pretty much sums up that you don't need any prior knowledge in maths to enter HSC Physics or Chemistry.

Questions prior to Trials? IN HERE!

Just need to know basic diode. Barely will need to know transistors exactly as you don't make them; we do. But here is a response I made a while back: http://community.boredofstudies.org/265/ideas-implementation/323842/transistor.html Be aware that 80% of what I said is extra curricular...

Post Your 2014 Sem 2 Timetable

Its still pretty good with the exception of that 3 hour gap. I may opt to do an 11 hour straight Thursday, and would do it, but in that case I will have to find a new lab partner and will not have any lab friends lol. Plus I can't really avoid a day of uni by changing it to 11 hour thursdays...

    UNSW Counselling

Sorry to hear about your situation. You can go to a counsellor if you like, and they keep everything anonymous. However, I would say that uni is a good thing to get your mind off it. But imo I would recommend you going to see a counsellor at uni, then going about first few weeks of uni, then...

Questions prior to Trials? IN HERE!

I recommend anyone to post questions in here if they are stuck on something. I can also provide answers if necessary or any help if I am knowledgeable of the topic/question.

PRELIM PHYS- why do we connect voltmeters in parallel?

Thanks for pointing this one out. I did not notice my error. Fizzy_Cyst is absolutely right. Its the voltage equivalent of the whole circuit from that point as referred to as an open circuit at the point (its called the Thevenin equivalent voltage for those interested in the extra-curricular...

Anyone Do Their Maths Trials Yet?

You will be fine with it. Tbh, trials should be done after you have done all topics so that its the most accurate grading for assessment mark lol. But Mechanics is not too bad if you do the work for it. I did not do much for it and it wasn't too bad to follow on with past papers (albeit it...

Is it true that the Chem course is a bit messed up structurally?

You need to explain what is meant by messed up structurally, because the syllabus can be done chronologically (which is probably the best way to do it, given that there is a slight follow on here and there) or, as some schools do it, in a different order. Though the actual chronological...

    Dangerous places in Sydney?

Well, Squar3root was almost jabbed by a guy that tried to jump him. But being SR, he just did a one hit KO.

    95% in economics trial?

Well to put things into perspective, being a low 70s students in the end, I did the same thing for trials (3 hour crams the day before) and got 80% in my trial (which would align up to an almost 90 mark in HSC). But yeah getting a low 70's in the end, I'm guessing I was more like on 60% raw lol.

    I've converted to EVERY religion

Its a different perception of God from different groups of people, but in the end, its supposed to be the same God as per the one God only system (not the multi-one). But yeah you do have a point here regarding different beliefs from different people.

Anyone Do Their Maths Trials Yet?

You have to prepare for them, as in the final, there's a lot of those types of cross-over questions. The two geometry questions last year, I could not get out in the exam and said gg. Those were difficult questions, but not exactly related directly to anything in the syllabus. Oh and Mechonics...

    I've converted to EVERY religion

Well, most likely you will end up in a few years time opting for one religion, or ending up going for none at all (its a source of confusion to preach every religion and can sometimes lead to ending up dropping all religion altogether). I don't understand why you have such fear though. If you...
