Computer Engineering VS Computer Science VS Software Engineering

You can transfer later to a different program. Though if you were really concerned, maybe you could have done MATH1081 this sem. Also I have no idea what PHYS1217 is so I can't help you out there. But with any other course, you should be fine if you put in the effort.

    HSC 2015 Chemistry Q&A Thread

There is a habit of HSC Physics and Chemistry papers having an extended question (6+ marks) in the option modules.

Post a picture of your ride

Subie are awesome though. I have my own "paddock" Subie.

How does the permeability of the armature affect the speed of rotation of a motor?

Re: How does the permeability of the armature affect the speed of rotation of a motor Permeability is dependent on the formation of a magnetic field in the material. Think about it like this. The more permeable the material is, the more ability it has to form a magnetic field. So how do...

    Transmission wires loss

No no no. P _{loss} = \frac{V _{drop} ^2}{R} This is not implying that the voltage source is responsible for power losses. Simply, the voltage drop across the wires is dependent on the current through them, V_{drop} = I R . If you really want the overall power delivered by the...

    UNSW Chit Chat Thread

Re: UNSW Chit Chat Thread 2015. 3 of my courses are going super slow at the moment. So relieved I have FINS done and dusted on Mondays though. Then I don't have to touch it until the next Monday haha.

    WRX on P's?

290 kW/tonne is like a Viper SRT10. This thing isn't actually road legal though so it's never been on roads before, neither will it ever be there.

    UNSW pre-uni meet 2015 v2

ON said he just left rofl (he'll be back being ON). Also, there's a lot of 14'ers around now. Time for a completely refreshed fb chat I would say.

    UNSW pre-uni meet 2015 v2

If I come along to any future meets, I'll probs text you, ON and SD provided I can remember (I did forget a few a while back soz). Though if someone makes an fb group for BoS'ers or something and invites everyone they are more than welcome to (basically saying, someone with fb should try to...

    Long breaks between lectures

I would do society stuff in the break. Otherwise, I would just go straight home before the 5 hour break lol. Maybe look on the class utilisation site to check if there are any other lecture streams available which you can "squeeze" into after a few weeks and when the lecture crowds slowly die down.

    Reading Lecture Slides before Lecture

Tbh I always walk out of a lecture better and better understand stuff if I have read the content beforehand. That's simply because it gives me the mindset of what I don't understand and what to pay attention to in particular. Also the lecture might reinforce stuff that you don't get. It is...

Post Your 2015 Sem 1 Timetable

Pretty far yes. You can get there on time if you walk really fast. Also, you can use the swap function right up until end of this week. After that, if you want to change tutorials then go see the course convenor and they might be able to help you there. Same goes for lectures and labs.

    Attend events without registering online

I didn't even know they banned people from registering for such events :/ Do they allow people to go in on the day and to register on the day? That might work.

    WRX on P's?

    I have mates on P plates who have driven a non-roadworthy 290 kW/tonne vehicle ;)

Do lectures begin next week and tutorials the week after?

Not necessarily. I have classes starting tomorrow but I have not received any e-mails. Check your timetable.

    WRX on P's?

Yep so this is why the 2.5 L engines don't cut it. The 2.0 L engines only barely make it under (some actually don't so you have to be careful there).
  17. anomalousdecay

    WRX on P's?

It's mainly the 2 L auto engines which aren't really all that much.

Is getting an MX 5 a good idea for first car.

Rotary engines require frequent rebuilds as the housing wears off really easily given the engine dynamics. This isn't an easy or cheap job as the housing is huge and the best bet is to use a new housing altogether as re-conditioning is really difficult and not as effective.

Do lectures begin next week and tutorials the week after?

More than likely your labs and tutes will start in week 2. Check your timetable for reference just to make sure.
