    inverse TRIG : (

Can't you just use normal calculus sketching methods? Like find the domain, range, then differentiate it to find stationary points, then test points to determine the nature of the curve etc etc. Whereas if you were asked to draw stuff like sin, cos, tan inverse or stuff like that, just remember...

    inverse TRIG : (

    1. y' = \frac{(cos (\tan^{-1}x))}{x^2 +1} 2. y' = \frac{cos x}{1 + cos^2 x} 3. y' = \frac{\frac{1/2}{1 + (x/2)^2}}{\tan^{-1}x} = \frac{1}{(\tan^{-1}x)(2 + \frac{x^2}{2})} Side note: When I did inverse trig, I got taught that [tan^-1 (u)]' = u' / (1+u^2), so that should make things easier.

    Need help with financial markets

    1. The way I’d approach this question is by thinking, what do you need to expand? The most obvious thing you need is financial resources. How would you get financial resources – either through investments or borrowing. Hence financial markets can assist Yung & Co in obtaining finance, i.e...

    a) People skills can be shown through the effective communication of the chief operating officer to his/her employees, thus motivating them to work harder. Other effective people skills can be shown by being able to analyse the wants and needs of employees and offering them as an incentive (e.g...

Does 'factoring' come under a short term finance?

Not true, factoring doesn't come under long term. Factoring is actually classified under external sources of finance - which is the same category as short term and long term financing. Technically your teacher is right, because factoring allows for an immediate source of finance, BUT, the...

    Diploma of Languages Qs ~

I managed to get through. Overloading isn't allowed until second year :( That means I'm not allowed to do it. Are you part of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences? Because maybe you might be allowed. EDIT: My bad, you're not part of the faculty of arts.

    Diploma of Languages Qs ~

I think if you have a high enough ATAR or if you do well during uni, you can apply to overload your schedule, and i don't think it'll take an extra year. But yeah, I want to do chinese studies as well.

    Any one use YourTutor?

I used to use it. For basic questions (like Year 7-10) they're alright, but they struggled with many 3U/4U math questions.

    Comm/law subject choices

I chose ACCT1051, ECON1101, ECON1203 and LAWS1052. I wanted to get the three commerce cores over and done with.

HELP! subjects to enroll in for commerce/law??!!

Well either way you're going to have to do ECON1203 - so it really depends on whether you want to do ECON1202 as one of your flexible cores, or if there's other cores you'd rather do.

    Difference b/w commerce and economics??

I called the ASB, their reasoning was that the Handbook page isn't under their control - it's under the control of the Faculty of Law or something like that.

Timetabling - Slight variations to the course plan

Hey guys, I'm a Commerce/Law first year student and according to my course plan I need to do ECON1202 in Semester 1 and ECON1203 in Semester 2. Since ECON1202 is no longer a pre-requisite for ECON1203, do you guys think it would be ok if I did ECON1203 in Semester 1 and ECON1202 in...

    Truongs Maths Tutoring, any comments?

Only sir (truong) teaches Year 11 & 12 maths. So there's really no need to comment. Although in saying that, the other teachers are really good as well.
