Maximising Your Employability Workshop (Saturday 11th March)

I think it would be even more relevant for a first year uni student. You need to be starting your professional development and career building from day one at university. If you have left it to your final year/graduation, you have left it too late.

Ranks these uni's for Commerce and Economics.

Specious reasoning in my view. The reason UNSW and to a lesser extent USyd, UTS etc are highly represented in graduate programs is generally due to the fact that they have a higher calibre of students. Organisations dont really care where you went to uni outside of say Law and maybe MBB/IB.

Ranks these uni's for Commerce and Economics.

In terms of employability, all are around the same - the university you go to doesn't really matter for most jobs in the Commerce field. In terms of learning experience, Id go to the open days and look up the courses in more depth to get a feel for each uni. Go with the one you feel is best...

St. Andrews catherdral school in town hall

Paying that kind of money just for smaller class sizes I still think is a waste. Having smaller classes isn't really as much of an advantage as you think. At the end of the day, teachers see students for about 45 minutes to an hour per class, they dont have time to provide that individualised...

Can i be an engineer if i did general math?

I consider General Maths to be pretty distinct from 2U/3U/4U. At least if the OP were doing 2U they would have some foundation, General Maths is just wholly inadequate.

Can i be an engineer if i did general math?

I definitely agree with Drongoski, I mean, you can still technically get into the degree but going in having only done General Maths is madness. First of all, you are making life harder for yourself when you start engineering and secondly, why would you avoid maths only to enter a degree with a...

St. Andrews catherdral school in town hall

I haven't been to St Andrews, but a few friends of mine went there over the years and from what they have said, it was definitely a good school. However, I probably wouldn't send my kids there because ultimately, I dont think it's close to being worth the $20-$30k pa price tag. I used to be a...

    How necessary is attending lectures?

It depends really on the course. Some courses you really need to go and others are a complete waste of time. I barely attended any lectures throughout my entire degree because they weren't really necessary. I did however go to my Accounting lectures because that was the only unit I had where...

Does anyone think that the Bachelor of Philosophy degree is worth it???

I dont really see much of an advantage. Most recruiters wouldn't have a clue what it is - most will think you're a philosophy major. Having BCom/BSc is far better and more recognised. The research work and overseas stuff is decent but I dont know if it's really worth it - you can do similar...

    Donald Trump

A good little summary of the left which the West Wing called 10 years ago.

    Donald Trump

The Democrats reaction and response to President Trump just shows why they lost. The right/Republicans went absolutely nuts at almost everything Obama did, the Democrats on the other hand look like a limp dick against Trump. No passion, no fire, no wonder they are losing in a country which...

    Donald Trump

A preview of the excuse making and semantics to be employed by the Trump fanboys? You crack me up Durr, this is weak even by your low standards. He has made a promise to build a wall - once the wall is built, then the promise will have been achieved. Intending to carry out a promise and...

    Donald Trump

It is relevant, Donald Trump has built his campaign around being a deal maker. If he cant deal with congress to get this stuff done, then he will have broken his promise.

    Donald Trump

Mainly because he seems to target ethnic groups that arent his own. It's kind of like Pauline Hanson, she goes after immigrants from Asia, the Middle East etc. You never see her go after immigrants from the UK who represent the majority of immigrants. Personally, Im for restricting...
