Oh okay. Fair enough.
I don't have any chance in coming first in anything I'd say, though I hope to get some state ranks. I screwed up advanced so friggin badly. Mebbe it's just me but I have a bad feeling about it.
HAHAHAH, I don't know, but probably within the vicinity of 0.05-0.1. Maybe 0.075 each, LOL.
What was your UAI estimate, dp624? I'd imagine it to be around 99.95 hey.
Tanya Nguyen came 4th in the state for English (1998). Lana Najj came first in 1992.
And you know, the English teachers were talking about state rankings for me in English. That kinda screwed me over. LOL. :( :( I hope I don't disappoint them too much.
One can only hope though...:P
I'm tired too. :(
Like I feel your pain. Teachers sorta expect really good marks from me, in the realm of state rankings, but I have a feeling that I'll just be sorely disappointed. But hey let's not speculate too much. Don't want to slip into a coma before HSC results. :)
Some guy, I think his name was John, posted a thread about tutoring. He went to SBHS, and got exceptional results in 4U and chem/phys. 91/100 in advanced English wasn't as good, but his UAI ended up being 99.95. So it is possible with a slightly lower mark in advanced.
He came top five at Ruse for all four units of maths, chemistry and physics. You could imagine.
How are you feeling, fallenstar? I myself keep envisioning myself getting state ranks but reality hits and sets: it's so hard to attain them, so there's really no use in me expecting or anticipating...
LOL yeah it's hard, it's only for the elite of the elite obviously. Not me.
Offtopic: I would prefer the higher UAI. Though, I was playing around with SAM and found out that if I scored ridiculously well (within the realm of 99) in one of my subjects (equating to pretty much a state rank), my...
My friend did a major work assessing his social policies and whether they were successful or not. It worked out.
He came to the conclusion that teenagers have his face on their shirts not because Che was some magnificent ruler, but of the myths surrounding his cult personality.
You'd feel happy, though. Satisfied with how you went. Scholarship prospects open. Having the sense of prestige and honour. There doesn't seem to be any downside to topping a subject.
There's plenty of reward for topping the state.
Ahh okay. G'luck! I reckon my competition in the humanities is not as stiff as yours in the sciences/maths, but judging by the figures, I think you'll state rank it in 3U, chem and phys. I mean, around 2-4 people get state ranks in 3U from Ruse, right? Same with physics and chem. As you're...
No. Looking forward to seeing you if I make it.
=P Do you think you'll get any state ranks? I'm hoping for either maths/English/history but not expecting anything at all.
Also, I think it's 1/3 UMAT for UNSW, not 2/3 (that's UWS). :) This is because UNSW devotes 1/3 of the entry score to...
You said so in the other thread.
I reckon you're going to get that 99.95, or even 100 depending on how well you do in advanced English. You're in a very enviable position. As for me, I don't know... I doubt I'll get into USYD med. UNSW med, I'm hoping. Hey if we get in we'll get to be friends...
