    Absolute values

The implication was to look at things positively rather than negatively. It was supposed to be a glass half full / half empty analogy. The best way to remember something is (1) Have an interest in the topic beyond marks alone (2) Understand how something works rather than just memorising...

    Questions

I wouldn't be risking it. HSC examiners don't like you using work from beyond the course, and they are likely to find any reason to knock you back. Until you can find an HSC head marker who says that is OK, steer clear of using it.

    Questions

It sounds like your school has split up extension trigonometry into two parts. As that is not done in the syllabus, you will have to ask your teacher. And as InteGrand suggested, DON'T use L'Hopital's rule unless you are prepared to explain where the rule itself comes from and when it can be...

I'm sure he means 'slices', and that is 4 unit work.

    Integration Question

Have you drawn the diagram and located the region to be rotated? After solving simultaneously, it should be easy to see how the region should be split, leading to the sum of two volumes.

    Rates of Change

    Using parametric coordinates (cosθ, sinθ), and using l=rθ, ie. l=θ, so dl/dθ = 1 dx/dt = dx/dθ × dθ/dl × dl/dt = -sinθ × 1 × 2 = -2y = -2√(1-x²)

Solving trigonometric functions Multiple choice HSC

Ummmm ..... you know I'm a maths teacher, right? A, S, T, C are not the names of the quadrants - "sin is positive in A and S" makes no sense. It's like taking ROYGBIV and saying "Green is the g-th colour of the rainbow".

Am I able to achieve an ATAR of 92+ even if I failed my internals?

What is a fail? Do you mean less than 50%, or do you mean an Asian fail ?

    3D Trigonometry Help

By dropping a perpendicular to the floor from the point where the cylinder touches the ceiling, that exact value appears straight off the diagram without going through that equation. Edit - oops, that is Ambility's solution.

    Does God exist?

But that is EXACTLY what the vast majority of christians do. Which is why there are so many varieties and sub-varieties of christianity, and why christianity is seen as such a joke amongst atheists. Any no-one is able to prove which fiction is the correct one - it is ONLY a belief based on the...

    reaĺly really quick question :D

Common sense does say you can't have 0.45 dogs. But it doesn't explain why you take the next integer. Not unless it said something like "what is the minimum number of dogs required to be 45% sure that at least two dogs had the same birthday".

Hoping to get into medicine, is it plausible with these marks?

Not if you think 'plausible' is the right word here.
