The Rex would be good because you'd be close to Fenner and it's still walking distance to uni. And in all seriousness I do know of a couple of people who will be looking to move out of college at the end of term so that frees up spots in college and also gives the opportunity for anyone who...

And also, someone said earlier in the thread about UG not having wireless access? None of the colleges do except for in common areas, it's all using a data cable which UG has too so you've got the same as everyone else there.

I wouldn't worry heaps about not being affiliated, as long as you get amongst all the ANU activities during O week, which you easily can because you're on campus, you'll make heaps of friends.

HIST1205 looks pretty good and vaguely similar in theme to HIST1015

No you might discover that while anu offers something like 27 later year courses, they only pick 10 to run each year, 5 in first sem and 5 in second. and first year history courses are very slim pickings. it can be a bit frustrating but if you can plan ahead to what you want to do next year etc...

Pretty much agree with the above comment. IR is good as long as you have a strong grasp of the theories that they teach you in Euro and Intro to IR...i really didn't get them and therefore hated the whole idea of studying/working in IR. MPW was the biggest bludge ever, I refused to buy the...

There's a reason I didn't go to those...are you just doing arts now? What's your major?

Yeah I just changed out of IR too, politics is a bitch. Defintiely do Intro to Pols though, you'll struggle to make up your two 1st years POLS without it (intro to IR and money power war in 2nd sem=death). Having said that I'm the only one I know who really hated IR, all my friends love it...

    O week

Not entirely sure but I know that within the colleges because they know who is/isn't over 18 they expect you to not drink and you can get in a bit of trouble if you are caught, expecially if its alcohol you bought from a uni bar. I'd say that if its a uni ticketed event they'll have different...

The students of Toad. Because its next to Willows Oval. Megalame.

I wouldn't say people from Fenner are abnormal. Pretty much just average.

    No accommodation offers. Rex?

ANU's been #1 for a while though...maybe more disillusionment with conceited Sydney unis? The ranking does make ANU more attractive to international students though.

I'm pretty sure that would work. Not 100% though, maybe call and ask student services.

    No accommodation offers. Rex?

It is kind of a disclaimer in the 'university approved' thing but while I agree that it isnt the best possible situation and perhaps slightly inappropriate, ANU has been getting mroe popular and more first years do rely on the guarantee each year. I can't help but feel bad for the people who...

Johns=really good at sports, therefore likes people who are good at sports. Fairly lo international population. Ursies=high GPA=prefers people who are going to do a lot of studying and very little partying. Burgmann=strong law tradition B&G=fairly picky but I'd say people with high marks and...

Definitely not. Its only like 140 for a year though.

    Information on Accommodation

They usually look for a mix of students although some colleges have preferences eg johns likes sporty people, I think B&G generally goes for people who could be considered to be more social/experiences as in have travelled or something. thats what your 'about me' part on your accommodation...

    parking options

They're all short term-4 hours max. Most are 1 hour metered. Maybe check out your options for surface parking but even that has a time limit I think.
