    For JMP(Joint medical program) they usually require minimum score of 50 for each section, and usually a higher score for section 1.

    I think a good textbook should be sufficient. (Also, many study guides are not cheap) What textbook are you using for Economics?

    Firstly make sure you understand all the theory well. After you've consolidated your knowledge, do practice papers. Remember to seek help when required.

    Yes, it definitely depends on the subject. I guess if you put in the effort consistently, you should be able to achieve Band 6.

    I agree- I began Yr12 putting in heaps of effort, but my motivation waned a bit towards the end. I definitely recommend pacing yourself.

    I think doing practice papers on your own is a good option, as you can learn at your own pace. I have some UMAT practice papers available, if you're interested.

    Not all uni's require UMAT. Also, I think some uni's don't even require interview e.g. Tasmania

    Are teachers necessary to get a good ATAR?

    In senior high years, the onus is on the student to study, ask the teacher questions, etc. Of course it helps when you have an especially good teacher who takes time to explain things again, etc. Teachers are not absolutely necessary to get a good ATAR, but it helps.

    UMAT+ATAR- Who got into med 2012 ?

    I got Newcastle, despite thinking I stuffed up the interview. UMAT 94 percentile, ATAR 99.85 I'm looking forward to studying Medicine.

    How does HSC ACTUALLY work...?

    1. PLease list every individual thing that goes towards your ATAR 2. How many assessments are there in year 12, and which one is the one that says "Assessment mark"? 3. Does ANYTHING AT ALL, including ranks, carry on from yr 11? 4. Is the average of Assessment Mark and Exam mark your final HSC...

    Learn the theory in advance, then revise regularly. (or cram if need be) Do practice papers, and other resources you can get.
