    Was that a Maths exam?

I didn't use a calculator in the exam, I never do for Physics especially since the angle given was 60 deg in the projectile. And that's stupid walking off after 1 hour... You will have made so many mistakes.

    General Thoughts: Physics

I think it's C though, the work done is the difference between the Ep s. That's a dot point too.

    Cambridge CD Year 11

Hi guys, Does anyone know if the textbook is on the CD given with the textbook? If so could someone send this to me? Reason being, I am looking to write solutions for the 3U Cambridge books but I don't have the Year 11 book (I have the Year 12 one) and I don't really wanna spend $70 and buy a...

Are graphics calculators allowed in Hsc?

Nope. But it wouldn't be hard to sneak one in, in my opinion. (Although I do not recommend this)

    Pencil writng????

Why didn't you just follow the god damn instructions and write in pen?

    Was that a Maths exam?

In an electric field the force experienced by the same charges are constant if the field is uniform.

    Multiple choice answers

For that Sun, Earth and Moon question... The Moon's force does change if the Earth comes between it and the Sun (it's attracted to the Earth etc), but the attractive force DUE TO THE SUN does NOT change.

    General Thoughts: Physics

It's not really stupid... It was covered in depth in Year 11 and it's in some Independent trials (2004 IIRC). Although I admit, doing Circular Motion in 4U maths did help.
  9. C

    General Thoughts: Physics

It depends on the question. I assure you that you needed to find t0 in this particular question in the HSC exam.
  10. C

    General Thoughts: Physics

No, you find t0 since from the Earth's frame of reference (ie. tv) it will take the however many years given in the question for the spacecraft to reach its destination, where as the spacecraft measures less time to get to the destination. Such an easy mark or so, I can't believe I had a memory...

    Was that a Maths exam?

Or use S=ut+1/2at^2 and use S=0. or use t=2usinθ / g and use g as the accel.
  12. C

    General Thoughts: Physics

Yeah, trajectory of a projectile in an electric field is parabolic. In real life projectile motion due to gravity is elliptical since 'g' is not constant. But we treat is as constant in HSC courses. I can't believe that I found tv instead of t0 for the first short answer question!!!
  13. C

    General Thoughts: Physics

It was more mathematical and more Physics related (ie. no lame "assess" questions) than other years. I liked it :)

    Was that a Maths exam?

lol, real Physics is really maths. The old HSC Physics course was like 95% calculations.

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

Results for 1st and 2nd quads for this would essentially be the same since it's a boundary angle.
  16. C

Hey all physics students < look here>

Yeah there's this book called "SuccessOne", and there's a reason why people buy it :)
  17. C

    General Thoughts: Mathematics Ext 1

What would that additional angle be then? .... There's only one answer as it was a boundary angle. Also adding 2pi to it yields a result outside the given domain. So 0.64 is the only answer.

    Japanese Textbooks?

This thread is over a year old. I have since dropped Japanese at the end of Term 1. Geez people (ie. Lien Lee), can't you READ?
  19. C

    4 Page booklets?

Yeah I had to ask for 2 additional ones. They recommend not doing this for some reason in the HSC.
