    Was that a Maths exam?

When the course was first proposed there was so much content, so much that in 2001 and 2002 (even after cutting doing the initial proposal), after the course was introduced, they cut stuff out like Van Allen Belt stuff. And no, he's not the reason that the course became like History; that would...

    Mathematics Marathon HSC 09

    It's actually from the 2001 HSC for 2U mathematics. There was a first part aswell (lead in). You've just posted the 2nd part. Consider \ log_{10} 2^{10} = 10log_10 2 = 3.010... \ and \ that \ 2^{10} \ has \ 4 \ digits \\ Now \ 2^{20} = 1048576 \ which \ can \ be \ represented \ as \ a \ 7 \...

    Help improper integrals

Well technically negative infinity right? I also think that these are not within the scope of any HSC course, do correct me if I'm wrong though.

    Get into J =

    Q/p = s/(p-j) So p/Q = (p-j)/s So p-j = ps/Q So j = p- ps/Q

    Maths help

It's kind of a stupid question then because it doesn't define or give a diagram as to what we need to actually find/solve.

points of inflexion and horizontal p.o.i

Or the third derivative test -- easier for some cases.

what is the best text book??:read:

Cambridge and Coroneos (and Coroneos Suppl) are the best combos IMO :)

    Maths help

    3x.x.h=4374 h = 1458/x^2 Surface area, SA = 2*(3x.x + x.h + 3x.h) = 2*(3x^2 + 1458/x+ 4374/x) = 2(3x^2+5832/x) SA' = 6x - 5832/x^2 SA'' = 6 + 11664/x^3 For a possible max/min SA'=0 6x= 5832/x^2 x^3=972 x=9.9 (to 1 dp) When x=9.9 SA''=6>0 ==> Min SA when x=9.9 etc

    Physics TextBook Recommendations

I used McMillian and Jacaranda as a supplement for my own study purposes. Our school uses Jacaranda though, but our teacher never used the textbook to teach us (just used the syllabus and taught us systematically by going through dot points).

    Was that a Maths exam?

I said "ie", meaning I had no clue about what he was talking about. So I guess you do win, that is, you win the prize for being so ... "correct" all the way through, and even so showing stoic behaviour and STILL posting here in a last attempt to try and redeem your pride. I think the bottom...

    Cambridge CD Year 11

Yeah But, I don't think I'll be using LateX though... it seems to hard to express myself. I'll just write it out neating and scan them when I'm done.

    Was that a Maths exam?

ie...? Because I _always_ make mistakes when I use a calculator and I'm slow at using one. It's all about personal preference. You just had to go off topic didn't you? So I guess you're going to be always carrying around a calculator (or a computer) when you go, for cases like, say shopping...

    Help on Physics

It is worth noting that the structures of ammeters and voltmeters are identical. Volmeters just have a resistor connected in series within them. So if a voltmeter is connected in series in a circuit then not much current would pass it, and so devices (eg. light globe) on the circuit would not...

    Was that a Maths exam?

Here's what I was saying: 1) I find it easier to mental calculate things, contrary to using a calculator and that I get the same answers as everyone else that uses a calculator in an exam. eg. If the unrounded value of an answer is, say 10.089123 m/s^2, then you can write 10 m/s^2 or 10.1 m/s^2...

    Was that a Maths exam?

Here are the facts: 1) Unless I know you in person (do I?), how would I know your name... your username here is just jibberish. 2) I'd have to be friends with you on FB, after somehow finding out your name. (Maybe I am... :D)

    Was that a Maths exam?

Since the argument has reverted back to the original topic I shall comment on this bit. I'm ignoring other comments. 2008 Q17 a) From the graph, what is the gravitational potential energy of the mass when it is one Earth radius above Earth’s surface? [1 mark] Where the hell do you have to...

    Was that a Maths exam?

I know who you are, and you're not that big. So don't pretend to be someone you aren't. Really? I wonder why someone decided to give your car a nice "touch" just over a week ago. I'd imagine because you're such a "nice" person and you haven't done anything to anyone to anger anyone. I think you...

    Was that a Maths exam?

Your point? I think that thing that 'helper' said sums up pretty much what I was saying all along. If you actually do that you'll find yourself being arrested pretty quickly. It's kind of useful having an uncle as a higher ranked cop. ;) So I actually dare you. My care factor = 10^6 * i -- But...

    Was that a Maths exam?

I think it is well proven that what I said was correct, whilst others argued that I was wrong. People people, it's OKAY to be wrong for once :D

    Was that a Maths exam?

http://community.boredofstudies.org/4712163/post-81.html Bottom line: You took a question out of context, just to try and prove me wrong. But obviously that failed. That's not ironic at all... Telling someone to get a life... I think it's analogous to saying "I'm not talking". :P By the way...
