How does your class rank affect your UAI?

youre only up against the whole state when the external hsc exams begin. Before that, you do your internal assessments to get a rank with the people you do subjects with at school, which is why when hsc time comes, its advisable to help each other out, so that when you sit the exams, everone...

    Unusual situation

http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/ebos/static/ALRND_2005_12.htm theres a little paragraph detailing the criteria of fulfilling the all rounders list. You do ned to get band 6s in 10 or above units to be eligible for an all rounder.

    Right subjects for UAI?

definitely if you have over 10 units, youre eligible for a UAI. You have 13.

    UAI over 80 possible?

your ranks are alright, but from what you said, 90% of students do poor or average. Then i guess youll just have to do the best you can and hope your grade doesnt stuff up to much. Although form the estimated exam marks, youre doing fine for the first 4 subjects, but chem would be your biggest...

Any hope for mid to high 80s UAI?

luckily for you, chemistry wont count. Your ranks are pretty solid, so if you and your cohort ace the exams, then i dont see why you cant get above 88.

what is the uai for non school leavers for a fee place for com/law at unsw

you mean the nrsl index for dfee law/com? apparently, like usyd you need 96 UAI minimum plus a gpa of around 6, which would give your nrsl index to be around 96. Im sure dfee would be a tad lower.

    A kinda simple question...I hope

its a bit too late to see what marks since youve already done half of your exams. Basically to get 85, youll need a few band 5s and 6s just to be on the safe side. You can get the odd band 4, provided you make up for it with your other subjects.
  10. jemsta

    Potentially bad UAI?

your ranks are a bit below average, so you should work hard on your remaining exams to have any hope of getting 66+ for policing. It looks unlikely at this stage, but still dont lose hope. General maths wont be counted at this stage. English is going to drag you down, so i guess well have to...

MAJOR question about uni course transfers!!!!!

but not everyone is academically bright, so you cant just say that someone who got 70 UAI didnt put as much effort as someone who got 99.

    UAI help please

yeah youre on target judging by those predictions.
  13. jemsta

    Unusual situation

youve got a pretty high raw mark, and that might align to a 90-91 so dont give up just yet.

    Unusual situation

it wont affect your UAI that much since youre killing this year's subjects. Based on your ranks and marks, youre pretty much guarenteed being an all rounder.
  15. jemsta

    Chances...?

the UAI last year for commerce/accounting was 85.05 at mac. Youve calculated your nrsl index to be 85, but usually with nrsl indexes, they tend to have a lower cutoff than UAIs, but it isnt always the case. However, i believe your grades are competitive enough for you to warrant a spot.

:S Need help on my Year 12 subject selections.

you never drop a subject based on its scaling factors. If you do well in it, then you wont get dragged down. Youre coming 1st in business studies, so that tells me youre pretty competent in that subject. what do you want to do in uni? If its commerce/business etc, then keep business studies...

Tafe or repeat year 12?! HELP ON INTERNATIONAL STUDIES!

theres no point in repeating yr 12....just do a course at tafe and transfer after the completion of a diploma. Or you can wait till youre 21 and apply for the mature age scheme.

    English Standard

commerce was 95 last year if i remember at unsw.

    English Standard

78 would be a tad high...75% for std eng places you in the top 10% so it wont hurt your UAI that bad.

    English Standard

that depends though. It could be higher or lower, so i guess well have to see what she gets when the results come out. I remember my overall assessment mark for std english was around low 60s, and that got me to 75 in the end. I guess band is being generous, but even a 70 is still achievable...
