My impression of it is that.. if you like everything in order, do things according to the book, are not bored by repetition and rules, and work consistently then it suits you. THat said, accounting majors tend not to have much problem finding related jobs

If you transfer after your first year, you can pretty much do any major. Since first year subjects are identical

definitely use LaTeX.. it's much more efficient, unless you're after only a few lines of equation. "Kile" which comes with KDE is the best I've seen, but that's only for Unix/Linux systems. miktex is the most popular windows one

It's better to team that up with marketing or something less numberish, because econometric + actuarial studies -> might as well doing a degree in mathematics.

Enjoyable? erh.. this really depends on you. seems like a lot of maths + curve fitting everyday so.. if you are into those sort of things then it's great. Career prospects - can't answer this.. And you probably can't do this with actuarial studies.. since it's only available under B.Econ...

I think the number of days at uni will be more informative: first years -> 4 days usually second year -> 3 to 4 days... although 3 days will get you late ones. third year -> ditto honours -> some evening (between 5pm to 9 pm classes)

Wonder why else will induce someone to do a commerce degree... It's a fairly vocational program. That said, I think actuarial students are not as money orient as accounting/finance majors. Ofcourse, we all know that business takes alot more than the piece of paper you get after 3-5 years here.
