I hate multiple choice. I prefer getting straight into it.

    General Thoughts: Biology

I defined DNA replication & Evolution. Then I went on to say that DNA replication results in identical copies of genes, also went on to say that the p53 gene always checks that the DNA is not mutated before mitosis starts. Then I talked about because DNA always replicates itself, this means that...

    Anyone need help?

If it's a big question, Transposons can also impact gene expression, and subsequently (if this happens during development) can impact on morphogenesis. Don't you just absolutely love how everything ties in together in this topic?

    Anyone need help?

Transposable DNA are segments of DNA that can move from one position to another on the DNA. They may be cut from one position and interested to another, subsequently causing deletion, addition or relocation of DNA bases in a neighbouring segment (frameshift basically). Basically, they impact on...

    Anyone need help?

Huge ass dot point. It is a SPECIFIC immune response. Consists of antibodies, T-cells (cytotoxic, helper, supressor & memory) and B-cells (plasma & memory) T & B cells interact during this process. Look a couple pages back, @teeah explained this perfectly.

    Anyone need help?

What's everyone's plan of attack tomorrow? Personally I'm going to skim through the paper for about 2mins, then spend a fair amount of time thinking about the large 7/8 markers. Then I'm going to work through the paper with those in mind, and do all those big markers last. Hopefully I can...

    Anyone need help?

I'm tired actually. Probs going to get some sleep, get up around 6am and study! I'll be nervous as soon as they sit me down in that chair before starting the exam and when they read us our 'rights.'

They could be really, and I mean REALLY mean this year. There is easily enough information on it for 5 marks.

    Anyone need help?

I don't know about you guys, But I don't think a question on the historical development of understanding the cause & prevention of malaria (including naming all those people involved: laveran, golgi, manson, grassi and ross) has ever been asked in the HSC. At least not for the past couple years.

Basically it works to regulate & maintain an organisms internal environment in response to their external environment. Made up of two parts: Central nervous system (CNS) and Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) CNS: -This part acts as the control centre for all of the body's responses by...

    Anyone need help?

Alright everybody, WHEN GIVEN A DIAGRAM ON THE XYLEM/PHLOEM! How do you know how to identify which is which? Eg: Phloem has sieve plates & companion cells etc. However, some pictures make it hard to identify. Could you post pictures from google or somewhere else and explain how to tell them...
