Chromebooks - does anyone use them?

I agree that most advanced users should be able to, but I'd rather have an extra line of defence even if I lose a few % of my PC's performance. Fortunately it doesn't seem to have a material impact on either my desktop (3700X/64GB) or laptop (8750H/32GB). The Chrome OS experience however should...

Chromebooks - does anyone use them?

I ended up ordering one this morning just for the fun of it all. I tried it in JB and whilst it wasn't blistering fast, it was snappy enough so I'm pretty happy with what I've ordered and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival in the mail. I appreciate there are Windows laptops in that price point...

    Internships at the big banks

No. But as others have mentioned, actively promoting/supporting the competition in say the interview may not give off a great impression.

Chromebooks - does anyone use them?

I'm generally a heavy power user of my PC and Chrome (lol I even have 64gb of RAM because of Chrome?) but have been most curious about trying out a Chromebook just as a "spare" laptop or 2-in-1 which I can chuck around and not worry about breaking it or damaging it. Whilst I love my Razer Blade...

Do Silver Service Taxis Cost the same??

Signed up just to post that? LOL. Must be desperate..

why economics and business studies are bad together

IMO, and this might be the "asian parent mindset" in me speaking, keep visual arts as a passion/hobby rather than doing it for your HSC and feeling pressured to do it in a certain way. It's the same reason why I enjoy cars and gaming, but I'd never make either of those into a career since I...

why economics and business studies are bad together

Seeing that I've seen Op post in other threads about wanting to swap it for Visual Arts, I guess the question again becomes what do you actually want to do (in life) and what are you interested in?

    Commerce degrees at UNSW, Usyd

I googled it and it sounds like it's really just another generic program to improve your employability and it's open to those who get an ATAR >98 (or less if you meet certain requirements). Whilst it sounds alright, honestly you'd probably get better chances by actually doing something...

why economics and business studies are bad together

Covers it again as well if you end up doing a CA where you still have to keep doing SWOT analysis!

    Business Case studies

Doesn't everyone just use QANTAS and BHP?

why economics and business studies are bad together

Same. I also found that business studies provided a much better general overview of various topics which you'd cover in significantly more depth in university (in a B Business or B Commerce degree).

    Bachelor of Commerce and Eco?

Rather than repeat the above which is very well said, I would add that keep in mind uni economics is very different to HSC economics. I originally wanted to do Comm Eco but I’m glad I didn’t because I realised how quantitative it was in uni (ie numbers based). Unlike the HSC where it’s a lot of...

    Subjects Dilemma

That being said, it comes down to what you’re trying to achieve and over what time period. Maximising your ATAR and options for entry into uni straight away, or doing something else you enjoy more now and then finding an alternate pathway. Whilst the latter sounds great, you also should play to...

    Subjects Dilemma

Whilst I definitely am an advocate of doing something you're interested in so that you can do well, what do you want to do longer term and what do you care about? (ie beyond school, beyond uni). I was under similar pressures to do commerce and become an accountant back when I was in high school...

    Co-op

Tough choice especially since sponsor/coop firms can change each year... but more likely than not, I'd go for the coop route to get the experience which would be more helpful in securing a grad role later on.

    Co-op

The accounting coop is a little less impressive in sponsors vs say the more well known UNSW and UTS programs, but it's still decent. Same benefits of getting paid market internship rates whilst working there (interestingly it's not structured like traditional scholarships with coop placements)...

    HSC 2019 NSW School Ranking

Agreed. It varies significantly from my own experience and what I see in my colleagues who are alumni of various schools. That being said even though I preferred my selective high experience, I'm still enrolling my daughter into a private school for high school both as a backup (in case she...

How to fill in TFN Declaration Form

You don't have a HELP debt yet then so you can say no. It's basically so they know to take out the loan repayments if your income hits the threshold. When you get an offer and go to enrol, (at least in my time), that's when you get offered the loan in the enrollment process.

    Can someone check my essay?

I'm guessing a bit here as I read it since your topic sentence of "How do these influences gain a competitive advantage." isn't clear what the referenced influences are and I'm inferring it from your essay. From an overall structure perspective, it's really written as an essay however I would...
