Also you'll notice that with the high ATAR's, all the calc predict pretty much the same thing. For example, if one calc gives you 99.85, all the others will be within the range of 99.8-99.9.

Wait can someone clarify someone for me out of curiosity: 1. The major work is marked completely internally? So the actual mark you get mean stuff all because they are all moderated according to performance in the final exam, ranks etc. 2. Is the final exam related at all to your major work?

Yeah they'll go to a bit of effort but they won't spend hours on it. It depends on the marker- some might be bothered and spend 5 or 10 mins, others might be pissed and move on. Remember that markers are human -> if they are marking at 8p.m and they can't read it and they're already annoyed...

I can guarantee from our science head who used to be a HSC senior marker and she stresses "Whatever the markers can't read IS NOT marked". They don't call you up to read it to them, they don't spend heaps and heaps of time on it- they won't mark it. Obviously they might get someone else to try...

~99.6 maybe? I'm not that sure about the mark distributions at the very top schools.

Protip-> when you study in these holidays, be efficient. A lot of people semi bludge, semi work and it takes them 6 hours to do 2 hour's worth of work. That's bad because you're not really learning but you're also not having fun at the same time. For me personally in these holidays, I probs did...
