    Multiple choice answers?

lol it's pretty good although intense i'm just doing science part of the degree so no med as of yet but i do subjects that are med related. btw, oh gosh, chem used to be so easy but now at uni...

    Multiple choice answers?

For Q6, D) Ethenylbenzene is correct. You should never completely trust HSC textbooks. (Btw, 'ethyl' would be when there's no double bond.) It's not outside the scope of the syllabus because there is a syllabus point for it. • identify the following as commercially significant monomers: -...

    Biol1001 + biology in general - question

As a person who had done bio bridging course, (I also hadn't done HSC bio but have done human bio in the 1st sem) I can say that it only helped in the first week or so for human bio (not sure for biol1001 though). I thought the $300 wasn't worth it in the end. And it only is really difficult...

    Complex Roots of Polynomial

much simpler than actually solving eqns, i reckon saying the expression is even suffices as a reasoning anyway. just showing why it works. no, there's only one solution. I did this problem in a few different ways and all gave c=-4 and e=16

    Complex Roots of Polynomial

This logic is correct because (sqrt3+i)^4+c(sqrt3+i)^2+e=0 [-(sqrt3+i)]^4+c[-(sqrt3+i)]^2+e=0 thus -(sqrt3+i) is also a root. similarly, -(sqrt3-i) is also a root.

    Complex Roots of Polynomial

gosh, i hate my internet disconnection. i just deleted to recheck my work but nevertheless, i still think i'm right. and you do (x-(sqrt3+i))(x-(sqrt3-i))(x+(sqrt3+i))(x+(sqrt3-i)) =(x^2-2sqrt3 x+4)(x^2+2sqrt3 x+4) and who says you need to use difference of two squares?

    Highest ATAR 2010

+1 actually unless there are reliable rank/mark stats

Is it possible to survive the year with 14 units for HSC?

wow... most people here are choosing to have a hectic year 12... 10 units is enough, imo unless one isn't sure which subject one should drop.

I feel so behind in studying! I'm Panicing!

From how I see it, uni is very easy for those who aim for pass or credit. Those who aim for HD will have to work quite hard. Also depends on the degree/uni

No UMAT needed for USYD med?

99.95 ATAR + interview passed ==> Usyd combined med (arts/sci/med sci/eco/com/mus (for mus, 99.50 suffices, but there's an audition in addition to med interview)) most others: UMAT+ATAR+interview --> over a certain threshold (differs for each uni) ---> MBBS (BMed for UoN) OR grad entry...

    ESL / Advanced ?

Yeah well, prob better to do std/adv for uni prep but ESL is definitely much easier to score high marks in (for ATAR contribution), unless one can ace std/adv anyway.

    heating effects of a current

No, that doesn't make any sense. due to the resistance of the conductor or by inelastic collisions of electrons with the lattice of the conductor. By heating a wire in water, if you mean running a current through a conductor in water to convert electrical energy into heat, it's because we...

Just do ESL and ace it

    Learning to Answer Questions

+1 to the scattergun method But I strongly disagree with the underlined part. I didn't do Biology but I usually finish HSC exams with 0-30 minutes left for both Phys and Chem. I'm surely at the band 6 level in both. But then, bio may be more straight forward... I don't know since I haven't...

    Does Physics need tutoring?

    No subject needs tutoring.

    Argand Diagram

Yeah, I get the same. And so it doesn't make sense lol. turning point and vertical tangent at the same point?

    Argand Diagram

z=x+iy z^2=(x^2-y^2)+(2xy)i Re(z^2)+Im(z^2) =x^2-y^2+2xy =0 Now, we've got the equation and we need to implicitly differentiate, etc to draw it (graphs chapter).

    Argand Diagram

What's z? We can never draw something like that without defining what z is. z=x+iy is not a definition since x and y are variables.
