How do I find a vector that is perpendicular to 2 other vectors in 3d?

Though, to add to my previous point, the cross product is always useful to have in your maths arsenal. It's not particularly hard to remember and in some cases can lead you to the answer (even if you can't get marks for using it). Don't stress too much if you can't remember it however.

How do I find a vector that is perpendicular to 2 other vectors in 3d?

There may very well be questions of perpendicularity in the 4U test. However, I doubt any would require you to use the cross-product - most of the time your textbook knowledge should suffice, rather than that of Dr Du or whatnot.

How do I find a vector that is perpendicular to 2 other vectors in 3d?

You can't use the cross product as a means of working out for Section II questions (i.e: non-multiple choice questions) You can use the cross product for multiple choice questions and as a means to verify your answer for Section II questions.

How to bounce back from terrible Maths ext 2 mark

Please do enquire about rank/class average - your internal ranking, school ranking, and class average is very important. For reference, like you I didn't study and did poorly in my first 4U exam (maybe a 60%? - ranked 90/120) and managed to get up to a ranking of ~70/120 come HSC (trials were...

subject help pls (mostly worried ab scaling)

Another thing to note is the Band 6 rate for Maths Standard (6%) is significantly lower than the Band 6 rate of Maths Advanced (23%). Hence if you do want to go down the Maths Standard path, it is important to be ranking at the top of your school for good marks, as well as performing...

subject help pls (mostly worried ab scaling)

If you perform well in your subjects (espcecially English!) you’ll have no problems getting a good ATAR. So try to aim as high as you can rather than simply a Band 6, for example. I don’t think any of us can give ATAR predictions for you at the moment - just aim high and the rest will come...

90 internal 95 external vs 93 internal 93 external for ATAR

I'm sorry OP, but your wording is confusing so I'll interpret your question in 2 ways and answer them both. First of all OP, you did not receive a "raw mark" of 90 for Geography. That mark was scaled to 90 - in reality your "raw mark" was probably in the 70s or 80s. I think you understand that...

    back 2 school

Terry Lee has great questions for proofs and complex numbers AND worked solutions, which is a plus. Cambridge has some gems in there too, problem is I don't think they offer worked solutions. If you're really up for it - take a look at James Ruse trials...

unenrol from a course and enrol into another?

What do you mean? Do you mean, for example, unenrolling from a Bachelor of Arts, and then enrolling in a Bachelor of Commerce? Or do you mean unenrolling from a class, such as ARTS1000 (or whatever they're known as in your university) and then enrolling into another one, such as ARTS1001? I'm...

    Selective Exam Resources/Prep

The selective schools exam process changed in 2021, so it might be hard to find up-to-date resources, or nothing might have really changed at all. Apparently it's moving away from rote-learning questions to more "critical thinking" questions - whatever that means. However, the NSW Education...

The people on BoS who have finished their HSC are here for one of two reasons: to pass on their successes, or to warn of their failures. I'm here to do both - feel free to message me privately if you have any inquiries.

Just out of curiosity in terms of the depth study grouping

It kind of depends on your school - at our school we did our depth study in groups, but we had to write our reports individually. It might not hurt to have study groups to corroborate on depth studies - but do whatever suits you best. In either case, please familiarise yourself with proper...

    plz help

Your LAT is great, well done - but please do it again this year! You should personally be aiming for a 96+ ATAR as it seems a lot of kids have got in with that ATAR this year and a similar LAT. Keep in mind though UNSW looks at your best LAT score not percentile - that is, if this year, a LAT...

should i drop maths ext 2

If you don't like a subject - don't do it. It seems you don't like/aren't willing to put in the effort for 4U - which is completely fine if you like other subjects! Have you checked UAC degrees to see if there are any subject prerequisites (e.g Maths Advanced) as well as HSC plus bonus points...

Is Maths in Focus really that bad?

I personally liked Terry Lee's math textbooks. Though the school didn't provide them it was a ~$70 investment I was proud of making, and something that is great for self-study. So that might be an alternative if Maths in Focus really is crap.

    year 10 english tutoring recommendations

The "main" HSC tutoring centres - Matrix, Talent 100, Dr Du, etc. all have English programs, but they mainly go through school content (not sure for Year 10 though?). That's probably not going to be helpful if you want to improve your creative writing specifically. I'd suggest staying away from...

    School email

If you removed it, you'll probably have to ask for permission again to be added back. If you haven't, it should be visible on your "Shared with me" Drive page. I'm not sure what your circumstances are, but if all else fails, it won't hurt to ask the original owner!

    strive chem

For when you do enter year 12 and prefer a book sorted by Module AND concepts, I’d recommend HSC checkpoints (for Mods 5-8 only unfortunately). Plenty of good questions + full worked solutions. Usually in most libraries.

    back 2 school

You kids are lucky - at least you'll have trials and stuff. HSC is a marathon, not a sprint, so pace yourself out nicely and you'll be fine (or grind super hard 2 weeks before HSC) I do wish you all the best, and good luck with COVID - not sure whether schools will be forced to move online...

    School email

For your school email - apparently it depends on your IT administrator. Some might delete your accounts. Some might let them stay. According to some, your school email is meant to be deleted 3 months after graduation - though I can't verify that figure. In any case, do back up data just in case...
