Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

Half of the students there have had no experience in debating and aren't exactly the best at public speaking. I wouldn't call it "major". It is meant to be a team activity and each student must deliver their own argument but some groups can get away with little to no teamwork. If you've had any...

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

I did not do physics but from what I've heard, it is rather difficult. If you choose to do a Bachelor of Medical Science at UNSW, you can choose Fundamentals of Physics as your elective. If you perform well in mathematics (e.g. band E3/E4 in Extension 2 Mathematics), you can negotiate with the...

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

Haha, I so would've preferred physics over SCIF, but alas, math is a corequisite of physics and I was given only one elective so I could not take both :(

Medical Science at UNSW or USyd?

SCIF1111 is (now) a 6 unit course usually completed in first year. You can always do a Science (or Advanced Science) degree and major in a medical/health science. And yes, at USyd, such a course is not compulsory.

    pathway into optometry

Hm, I thought it was higher. By the way, that's the old program. The new program code is 3952.

UNSW Med Sci 08: ROLL CALL!

Nah, the online handbook says you needed to have completed HSC Biology, but meh, if I was in your position, I'd stay in Genetics anyway until/unless they kick you out, lol.

UNSW Med Sci 08: ROLL CALL!

I thought HSC Biology was a prerequisite to gaining an exemption for BIOS1101 (and thus enrolment into BIOS2021). :O And why did you use "quite"? In italics too?!

    UNSW Subject Reviews.

BABS1201 (Molecules, Cells and Genes): Ease: 9/10 Lecturers: 5/10 Interest: 1/10 Overall: 4/10 Comments: Easiest course ever. Anybody that has completed HSC biology should be able to gain a distinction in this course with minimal effort, which also makes it very repetitive and...

    Math1131/math1141

You're meant to find the radius first, then the volume. The answer is around 1241 cm³. I'll let you try it on your own first. Yep.

Can we put ILectures on our ipods?

Isn't there a Download PodCast (i.e. an mp3 audio file rather than an audio stream) option in Lectopia?

    Maths Formulae

Lol, sorry if I didn't upload them in time for your half-yearlies.

    Multiple Choice

In that reaction, yes, however, as mentioned by Stipe Pletikosa, "One substrate can be split, or two substrates can be joined". In your example, it was the former. In today's exam, it was the latter. Example: In DNA replication (hey, this was another question in today's exam), an enzyme named...

    Multiple Choice

And yes, you are contradicting yourself: The products are the substances the substrates becomes, therefore the substrate(s) is/are the reactant(s). A substrate can be split or multiple substrates can be joined together (the latter was the case in this scenario). Indeed you are correct. And when...

    Multiple Choice

For question 1: a) C cannot be the substrate since it is not changed in any way. In fact, C is the enzyme - the catalyst. b) (b) shows the enzyme-substrate complex. It is what is formed when the substrate bonds onto the enzyme's active site. c) This shows the final product: A and B joined...

    Multiple Choice

You don't inseminate a plant. Heck, plants don't even produce semen, nor are there genders for plants.

    Options: Communication

    You mean larynx.

    Exam Thoughts

Colour is merely a particular range of the Electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. I think UV and IR are valid (I talked about them), as well as wavelengths in the visible spectrum. An animal (or human with abnormal cone cells) will not perceive colours the same as you. mr.xx: Random assortment...
