    Raw marks?

Sounds alright. If you have Einstein's UAI calculator, you'd see that it's around the percentile rank for those marks. Just compare it to results to your school.

other people making me feel guity.

Not their fault they're studying and you're on BOS, I guess.

    ~~Mathematics Revising Game~~

    Re: 回复: Re: ~~Mathematics Revising Game~~ 1=4 2=8 3=24 4=? Erm... lim (x->0) sinx/x lim (x->0) cos x/x lim (x->0) tan x/x

What should i do? (re: maths)

Yeah what everyone else said. Drop. And zuey: Your maths teacher has not a single clue what she is talking about. Around 4% of the total number of candidates got band 6 in 2007. That's around 1200 people. Quite statistically impossible, eh?

    Describing the Structure of Cellulose?

Oh well. You know which one it is now anyway, so don't try too hard to forget it because it may or may not be useful.

Is there practical tests in Hsc

As in... Will they ask you to do a titration, or ask you to demonstrate how to distinguish alkanes from alkenes? Lol, no they won't. They MIGHT ask you to write down how you did it, and the results, observations, conclusions, etc.

    2005 paper 80/120

    Probably around mid 80s?

    Worst textbooks

Jacaranda Physics is pretty good. Don't judge a book by its size! Also, I personally recommend Conquering Chemistry over Spotlight Chemistry. I haven't seen Chemistry in Context yet.

Anyone Else Studying Less Closer To the HSC

Nope. I've been pretty consistent. With the procrastination, that is.

    First Day

First day was gay. Now I feel like I'm replaced with new "year 12s". I'm not year 12 anymore? T_______T

How can we observe a chemical change?

Re: 回复: Re: How can we observe a chemical change? What if there was no gas produced? You wouldn't smell the odour, would you? And how can you observe the change in chemical composition and nuclear arrangement?

How can we observe a chemical change?

Re: 回复: Re: How can we observe a chemical change? Does that actually work? I mean, if you smell milk, tea, or milk tea, they'll still have different odours. And Jason: I know that the things like displacement reactions etc... are obviously chemical reactions. That's only because we studied...

    Science Reactions

Combusting is different. They're organic compounds such as alkanes or alkanols, and the products are usually always CO2 and H2O Oxidation of metals, though, do not turn into CO2 and H2O. Instead, they (if I remember correctly) lose electrons to oxygen/water molecules to become metallic oxides...

    Raw marks?

I'll take a wild guess and say high 80s for a low band 6, and a mid 90s to get 95......? It varies greatly from test to test. But I know that your rank has to be first in every 10 people if you want 90, and first in every 100 people if you want 99

4 unit maths or extension german?

Do 4u maths, drop german, and keep bio. If you're doing alright in 4u maths, drop bio as well. If you're not doing well in 4u (as in, pretty much ranked last), drop back to 3u and keep bio.

    Science Reactions

I wouldn't say "corrosion reaction". It is a chemical reaction, where the metal corrodes. Rusting is actually the oxidation of, specifically, Iron. Other oxidation reactions don't get the name "rust".

What would you like to see on BOS?

Re: What would you like to see on BOS 2008? Prizes for outstanding contribution to BOS community?

    help plz again

You can actually just look at the equation. y = 15 - (x-4)^2 Since you know for all values of x, the square will always make it positive, then you know that for any value of x (besides x=4), y < 15. So, the max value is when (x-4)^2 = 0 So max value is y = 15 when x = 4
