    Ebay?

DX's prices are great, just don't use them when you need something in a hurry. My biggest score on eBay was a new IBM Thinkpad T43p for $1.2k. RRP $2.4k on the market then :D

    Is UNSW Your First Preference?

Elec is pretty hard. gman can probably tell you more about it. I did ELEC1011 and though 'yeeer not too bad', then I did ELEC2031 and got the worst mark in my uni career. I for one definitely underestimated how hard it was going to be. For a 3uoc subject it was hell.

Software Engineering / Computer Science+Honours / Software Engineering + Commerce

From what I understand: - its group work, so you might have dodgy group members - subject itself isn't all that exciting Yes you can, except in first year and maybe some of second year because there aren't any COMP electives you can do as a first year. And in second year you don't have the...

    choosing which "computer" course

Software Eng / Computer Science Double Degree?

INFS = information systems They're basically subjects about computing without the technical detail. Think of them as courses in computing (eg, spreadsheets and databases) for commerce/business types. At its worst you learn about the use of the power switch and the different kinds of plugs you...

    COOP SCHOLARSHIPS - 2008 - your thoughts

BIT isn't really what you'd classify as maths and programming. Most of the BIT subjects are INFS. I think the general rule is you can't combine at all if you're on coop. I was comp sci though so you might want to check that.

    choosing which "computer" course

Programming = writing/testing/maintaining/debugging code. No one sits down to draw a UML or ERD diagram and says they're programming. I've seen it year after year. Students coming into uni doing seng thinking they'll do tonnes and tonnes of hardcore programming (ie, coding) only get severely...

General maths with I.T? (MY FUTURE!!)

At UNSW seng has more focus on the software development cycle: design, documentation, teamwork, management, etc (ie, not necessarily writing code). Comp sci has no particular focus. There are core math and computing subjects like other programs, but a big chunk of the degree are electives for...

    Best for Software Engineering

That link goes to Computer Engineering? Of course comp eng is going to have elec subjects in it Software Engineering is here: http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2008/3648.html There is not one ELEC subject in the entire SENG program. Pretty much the entire thing is COMP and...
