    Texts selected for HSC English?

I like you too :) Hey, Tanjin, how many units do you do? I thought you did history extension as well. And I heard that Shipping News is a snorefest.

    UNSW Medicine Interviews

I think you need to do either standard/Advanced English to get into medicine... (undergrad). I hope I get into UNSW med. Does anyone know about the arts add-on and how many electives we can choose from that?

    Texts selected for HSC English?

Shipping News and The Castle. Extension one is my favourite subject (along with modern). It's awesome. I really like Heaney because a lot of what he writes is linked to the Irish struggle/English land claims. His poetry is pretty vivid and a joy to read.

    Texts selected for HSC English?

Doing Heaney for Retreat from the Global (Extension). Absolutely LOVE Seamus Heaney. Favourite poet.

    How were exam...?

Exam results: Maths: 5th Going to a selective school which is "reknown" for its maths ability means that the test was so bloody hard. I left out around 10 marks. T_T Modern history: 1st Pleased with this one, though there's a hella lot of work to do to get better next time. My final mark for...

2 unit maths rules out band 6?

LOL don't be slack. Summermagic, your friend's wrong. 2U maths, despite it's title, scales approximately the equivalent to physics, advanced English, chem and eco. And no it's not impossible to get a band six. Around 7000 people in the state do, every year.

Advice Thread for Prospective MX2 Students

Thanks Tichondrius. @ Kujah I'm actually doing 13 next year, 4U maths, history extension and EE2. Now that I've heard that 2 hours a night on maths is good, it's all good. I'm dropping one of these if I can't manage them; but at this moment, provided timetables and whatnot align, I'll be doing...

Advice Thread for Prospective MX2 Students

Hey everyone, I'll be taking 4U maths in about a few weeks, so I was wondering if anyone here is keen to share study habits and all that jazz. I'm thinking that I'll spend an hour each night on 4U (for homework from class) and another half-hour to an hour just studying what I've learnt and...

The best Chem books to learn adn study from for HSC

I find conquering chemistry to be horribly confusing. Contexts is the way to go. Don't ever buy Surfing unless you're really desperate, though, because it's just way too error-riddled and covered in a thick crust of inaccuracy.

    How were exam...?

English: 5 Maths: 3 Chemistry: 7 Biology: 8 Modern history: 6 English ext: 4 Not feeling confident at all. Will post marks when I get them.

Are any schools studying Joseph Benedict Chifley?

Seriously, who wants to study Chifley (Australian history = ew) when you could study a leading Nazi? Btw, I'm doing Speer next year.

    Gough Whitlam

Re: Need study notes on Gough Whitlam They're the notes I typed out from the material I received at school. My teacher is a brilliant teacher, so there wasn't really any need for a study guide.

    Study Habits

Making notes should be easy if you understand the material. So ask yourself if you understand the stuff you're doing in class. If you don't, ask your teacher. Then the stomach acid and other mutant enzymes will turn your cellulose schoolwork into digestable material. Then you'll be able to...

How to prepare and organise yourself for the HSC year?

Haha, not mine for some reason. I have small ring binders. And I repair any holes damaged using sticky tape anyway.

    Gough Whitlam

Re: Need study notes on Gough Whitlam Sorry that it's messy at times, but that's because I couldn't copy and paste the tables lol. That's basically all you need to know. I started studying history the day before the SC and got 98. LOL. I don't know what that says about the SC. Maybe the fact...
