Chances for me to make into Hurlstone Agriculture High School!

Your application looks really good but I'm pretty sure Hurlstone chooses new students based on their score in the entrance test. But don't be discouraged if you don't make it in; in year 11 they open 20~ spots and so there is more of a chance to get in :)

    Confused about selective

How low is low? Bottom 20%? I know someone who went from Kogarah High School to St George, and she was the very last person to get in. So if your school ranking is as 'low' as Kogarah High, then good luck. I think that if you're trying out for Year 11, they wouldn't heavily rely on your school...

    Anybody good with romance?

The beginning sounds really nice, but I feel as if the storyline will lead to a cliche story I'd read from fictionpress. You could write an angst-y love story? I do recall that one of Prufrock's themes was the meaningless of life. Factor it in maybe?

Chances of making it to a selective school?

Yes it is a bit of a let down for those genuinely smart kids... Anyhow, from what you've posted, I'm pretty certain you'll get into St George, so don't put yourself down :)

Chances of making it to a selective school?

^ I don't think preference really matters. I put St George Girls as 3rd preference and still got in. But put the schools in order of what you REALLY want to get into. There isn't much of a point trying out for partially selective school because they mix the students together. But I know in...

Chances of making it to a selective school?

About 120~ girls try out for St George year 11 and about 20 get in. I entered St George this year as a year 11 with 21 other girls. Great school and everyone is really nice. First of all, CHILLLLLLL. All that stuff you mentioned above will definitely get you into St George. Honestly, my...

    Application to Selective High School

Uhhh, I can't remember it too well...but I think it was something to do with the good things and bad things which impact teenagers life? The really really really deep stuff LOL

    Application to Selective High School

Definitely try out in Year 10 for Year 11. There is usually about 20 spots which are open :) The Fort Street Entrance Test this year was pretty tough, in my opinion of course. I couldn't handle the amount of math there was, with such limited time. Assuming from Distinctions from Maths, you'll...

    Noise Cancelling Headphones for Study!

Industrial earmuffs work. My neighbours always pump their mega crappy music out loud and the earmuffs block pretty much all sounds. OR, you can just tell them to shut up (or in a much nicer way)..but if you don't want to disrespect your mum then...get earmuffs :)

What are the dependent and independent variables?

To begin with, it seems as if you don't actually understand what an independent, dependent and controlled variable is. The independent variable is typically the variable being manipulated or changed. The dependant variable is the observed result of the independent variable being manipulated...

    Hurlstone Ag interview

I assumed they would ask: -Why do you want to go to Hurlstone? -What can you do for the school? -Hobbies, extra-curricular activities and other random things They may ask what agriculture is? Not sure, but it doesn't hurt to research it (: You're pretty much in if you get an interview so you...
