Desperate need of a belonging text for half yearlies in a few days...

it totally depends on wat you what to say about belonging, ie whether it depends on culture, parents, religion... but they're really common. i'm talking about how in order to belong, an individual must give up part of their identity or anothe rpart of their life in order to do this. i'm working...

    Frankenstein/BladeRunner

wow, this could SO be true. i'm storing that info in my brain :) thanks!

    Frankenstein vs Blade Runner

oh, i've forgotten to mention, BR also combines the elements of the 'hard boiled' crime fiction genre with sci-fi. this is also more appealing as it has more variety and JUSTICE PREVAILS (convention of HB CF)! then leaves the audience morallly confused as we think "shit, did he just kill his own...

    Frankenstein vs Blade Runner

your question depends on what the audience is. if you are talking about the value contempory audiences put on it, obviously it is more accessable and easier to understand. more people would prefer to watch the movie of Blade Runner (and walk away thinking of the confusing twist at the end) than...

    Who has crappy teachers ?

english: good, except been failing lately. we asked for a practise essay question LAST WEEK, keep asking every lesson... hasn't prevailed yet... and we've only done TWO lessons on blade runner- besides watch the movie :chainsaw: ext english: freakin' awesome!!! ext/maths: alright, but there's...

    Help please with frankenstein

sorry, have to agree. easy!!! your teacher should teach me :) except then i wouldn't get a practise of the harder qestions... meh. jean-jacques Rousseau argued that man's nature was harmless, but men are made evil by society (comes thru on the creatures charactor, ie ""i was benevolent and...

    Frankenstein technique help plz

oh, and by "dash(ing) the cup from (waltons) lips!", victor wants to rob walton of his ambition. hope i've helped :)

    Frankenstein technique help plz

the "intoxicating draught" is a metaphor for ambition. (NOTE theme!!!! and a charactors value!!! but not shelleys... coz she's saying it's BAD... confusing huh?) Victor makes a link between himself and walton by saying that they have both "drunk" from it.

    Frankenstein & Blade Runner Quotes

"it's not an easy thing to meet your maker" man taking on the responiblities of God. (which, on a side note, is kinda ironic as people i know always complain about the bad stuff the God "lets" happen, ie cancer, pedophiles etc. is this commenting on how we expect too much of our creator...

    Frankenstein/BladeRunner

Re: Frankenstein/ Blade Runner FRANKENSTEIN: Victor doesn't take care of his creation, even though he made it, instead left it to defend itself. this contrasts to the way that his parents treated him, when they took care of his every need. he also makes it without thinking of the...

    Frankenstein is a hobo

it was alright... it took a awhile to get going, but then it was good. but i hated the ending! Victor dies from the cold, frankenstein goes off to kill himself (though we get no description) and Walton returns (yet again, we dont know whether this happens and whther he got home safely). poor...

    Urgent!

this is a bit late, but choose artists who you enjoy, i would, personally, choose Dali and Morimura but most artist are inspired by their environment and so include that, their personal life, inside their artwork.

    Bow critique please

yeah, it is a common subject. my teacher has a book of old B.O.W's and TWO had the theme of alice in wonderland. if you can get ur hands on them, you could use them as inspiration. read 'through the looking glass', it's wat inspirated alice in wonderland. or it's the sequel- i can't remember...

    Major Work Woes..

wow, pressure much? i really need to talk to my teacher about my B.O.W. the conceptual idea is about domestic violence and the oppression the victims go thru. if anyone knows any artists, it would be a big help  so far i've got barbara kruegar (my biggest inspiration), the Guerilla...

Bomb out in maths in prelim, but success in hsc?

i suppose it COULD be done. though extremely hard. but yeah, i'm not sure you should be doing this advanced class if you are not willing to put the effort in. but good luck if you decide to stick 'round :guitar:

    Final touchs

actually, i've seen an artwork in some HSC book, where someone for their B.O.W did a comic where she was a superhero. basically, her whole msg was that we'd have to be superheroes (with their super speed etc) to be able to do all the work that the Board sets us!!! hilarous... if i hadn't already...

what, where's this in the book?!??

    is art a bludge

i dont think it's a bludge, not if you put the effort into it. there's so many artworks in the world and twice that many interpretations you can made for just ONE of those artworks. by the way- DALI ROCKS!!! :guitar:
