    Who else can't find work?

I've been looking for part-time work last year. I think it might be something to do with my resume. So I'll get someone to check over my resume and cover letter when I'm applying later this year. Good luck to everyone who's looking for a job! :)

When is fee statement appearing on myUNSW?

Hi guys, I'm going to be in second year this March. I was just wondering, do you guys know or remember around what date is the Semester 1 fee statement going to appear on myUNSW? I know the census date for paying is 7 March (Sun) as said in UNSW Key Dates, but I would like to know when is the...

    Is University overrated these days?

Well said, chefman21. Most jobs have much higher academic requirements now, when compared with in the past, therefore it becomes pretty much a must for high-schoolers to get into university in order to be able to get a decent job. Sometimes even a bachelor's degree cannot guarantee you of a...

Question about UniBar and the Roundhouse

I went in the unibar before I turned 18 before. Just that they might check out if you buy alcholic drinks at the bar. Usually they don't check you before 6pm if there's no special events/parties going on that day.

    How helpful is Peer Mentoring?

I signed up for peer mentoring last night. Wasn't able to able their scheduled sessions since I had a lecture at that time (each mentor had about 3-4 mentees, and everyone has a different timetable). You don't lose anything if you sign up or not. Up to you.

    Mini Laptop vs Writing Notes...?

As the two people above said, mini laptops and paper notebooks can be useful for different subjects. I find it easier to type on a laptop for lectures with lots of textual information, since typing is neater and quicker than writing.

University Timetables: Basic Rules for Freshmen

I'm at UNSW and I know about the one-week lag. I'm just saying, it's better to put your tutorials a day or two after the lectures IF POSSIBLE. For instance, one of my courses ARTS2844 this sem, the lecture is on 9am Wed, and all the tutorials are on Wed afternoon; thus, it'll mean that...

Is it possible to do a Diploma and Bachelor's degree at the same time?

You are only allowed a maximum of 24 units of credit per semester. Thus, if you are already enrolled in a bachelor's degree, you wouldn't have any remaining units of credit to complete your diploma at the same time. You can use your Gen Ed slots to do German, or simply do a German course offered...

University Timetables: Basic Rules for Freshmen

I actually think it's better to have your tutorials a day or two after the lectures, so you can get some time to read over the lecture notes and readings before attending the tutorials for in-depth discussion.

    Buses from central

You can always buy extra travel tens ahead of time, since they are 20% off the 'cash price' and the rides don't expire until you've used each travel ten for 10 times.

    About UNSW

Thanks for the link. I don't do courses at COFA, so never bothered going on their website. =P

    About UNSW

COFA is in Paddington. Pretty much disguised by the surrounding houses and such. Lots of trees around. I heard that COFA is going to be closed for renovating or something this year...?

lectures/tutes? do tutes lag a week behind?

In some hectic courses, lectures start teaching stuff in the first lecture. So be prepared. Usually in tutorials, the materials discussed follow after the lectures.

    UNSW 2010 Rollcall

Louise Ravelli is the program coordinator for B Media in Comm & Journalism. Her lectures tend to be more technical, a lot about language structure and that sort. Was a little dull at times but I went through them. Her tutorials are more interesting, personally. YAY welcome!

Are you ALLOWED to skip lectures?

Same case for me. More than half of the people still didn't bother turning up even with attendance-taking. Don't think they intentionally failed anyone on that account.

How will you commute to UNSW?

Can't you move somewhere closer? I mean, you're still spending a few years in uni afterall.
