HSC English --> Ask your questions

It should be fine, but most stories that I've read focus on a character belonging at the end, but by all means it should be fine... but I reckon you should have an idea for a creative wear your character does belong at the end!

probably a mid band 5? but scaling changes so you can't really predict

HSC English --> Ask your questions

I did 1500 per essay, may be a little less for module B... but some people do well writing 900 words.. so it depends on the person

HSC English --> Ask your questions

I used to do about 1500 in 40 mins, but one of my friends would do 1100 words in 40 mins and get the same mark as I did.. so it depends on the person!

HSC English --> Ask your questions

I'd say practice doing your essays, but just know what to change in your essay to make it fit in as a feature article/newspaper articles/ speech. speech is the easiest thing to change to - so I do hope that in case they decide to use a different text type they specify a speech

2 should be fine as long as you do them well. if you have extra time, very well do a third. analysis needs to quite detailed about two techniques per quote and since it's poetry I'd say about 4 quotes per paragraph (as the quotes are of course shorter)

HSC English --> Ask your questions

you can respond on a personal note, but limit the use of "I" etc.. say makes the reader understand etc.. if you must use "I"/ "my" you can use it in the concluding statement, but in my opinion when you use "I" / "my" in the body of your essay, I feel it loses its sophistication. However check...

HSC English --> Ask your questions

sorry I don't tutor any of the standard modules

HSC English --> Ask your questions

Yes, but the trend seems to be essays, but they can make you do feature articles and speeches etc
  12. A

HSC English --> Ask your questions

I hope not. because when they say at least you can very well do one. As long as you do it well and it doesn't look like you ran out of time and so only did one briefly. If you're doing one, do it well.. plus doing one text gives you a better scope for extensive/sound analysis!
  13. A

HSC English --> Ask your questions

the trend seems to be ONE or AT LEAST ONE, but they can very well ask for two... difficult to predict. but I'd do my practice essays with ONE but know a second one just in case!

HSC English --> Ask your questions

established values simply means the values that existed at that time... so you can use the word or use a word that means the same. but you need to specify the established values that they challenge and then use textual analysis to support your claim!
  15. A

HSC English --> Ask your questions

not at all, when they say at least ONE it means you can discuss one. as long as you analyse the text well and it is not done in a vague manner that it looks like you ran out of time - you will not be penalised for doing one

HSC English --> Ask your questions

sorry I've only taught Pride and Prejudice /LTA --> but from what you've said I think it will be correct to say, that whilst some values change others remain the same..! (someone who has done the text will need to help you more), but I think you can always challenge the question in my opinion
  17. A

HSC English --> Ask your questions

definitely not unless it so happened to be one of your additional text..but the chances of that happening are quite slim! even in that case it is not advisable.. but the trend so far seems at least one, so I presume 2011 HSC will ask for at least one, unless they decide to deviate from the...

HSC English --> Ask your questions

that's going to be a very wordy answer.. but the gist of it all is that all these key terms you've used - relationships, acceptance, understanding can limit or enrich an individuals identity and hence determine their sense of belonging. so with relationships --> connection you have with...

anyone one know people that mark english essays?

whatever you do, don't send it others (like students etc), at this stage people out of desperation will stoop to any levels. so yes get a teacher to mark them or use one of those online marking services! all the best

HSC English --> Ask your questions

may well be, you never know, but again I have my doubts.. it always say an imaginative piece of writing etc, to keep it broad but in that case you can say, today I'd like to share with you a story - [insert creative] but since it is a speech it will be wise to have a reflection on your...
