    swagmeister's HSC journey

I mean I aim for 2 hours of intense work, I use the stopwatch on my watch to record it and reset it daily, then fill it in to a weekly progress tracker thing I have set up. By study right now that has meant taking notes and learning ahead of the class as well as doing exercises for maths and...

    swagmeister's HSC journey

Thought I might start one of these, been reflecting offline but this hopefully means I can get some more support. I go to a rank 200ish school. My subjects are: English Advanced (goal 85+) - 17/45 and 70% in prelim, working on it haha mainly trying to find the motivation [emoji26] General...

I'm using Dixon combined with Creative Economics and the Excel study guide. Using Creative Economics as the main one and then supplementing knowledge with Dixon and doing a bit of review with the Excel one.

China case study bad idea for state rank?

Ya thanks so much for your advice, also looking forward to when you publish the next section in your guide about how you revised and how you didn't actually take notes - I'm spending heaps of time on them right now so hopefully I'll get some ideas from it. My Eco class is has only about 16...

China case study bad idea for state rank?

Hi guys, I have to do China as my case study for the first assessment this year, but was thinking particular to avoid it as I am aiming for a state rank and want to differentiate myself. It sounds like others agree including mreditor16 who state ranked and said in his guide: "Also, please...

dropping to 10 units to bring up english?

Haha thanks, don't know how I have done so well - guess cause I am passionate about my subjects (minus english which I find quite subjective, but working on that) and pay heaps of attention in class cause to be honest in prelims I averaged around 20-30mins of homework a night but I am ramping...

    Stressing over getting into uni

It won't be that bad at all! 2u maths doesn't scale badly at all, IPT is easy to do well in and I can't speak about the others but I do other 'low scaling' subjects including business studies and general maths (dropped) and I am aiming for an ATAR above 90. Remember scaling doesn't affect things...

dropping to 10 units to bring up english?

I know it's another 10 or 12 unit post but I haven't found any people in a similar situation to me, any help would be heaps appreciated. Aiming for an ATAR of 90. School rank: 200 Subjects in prelim: Adv English (rank 18/45, average 70%) General Maths (rank 1/60, average 95%)...

    does anyone here do software

Yeah I'm doing it online so that makes it even worse, if you have a teacher that's with you the whole time you will be probs be fine. The other annoying thing for me is that we jump around with the topics in order to be able to cover almost everything at some degree for our first assessment...

    does anyone here do software

No, not necessarily they don't all have to be the same length Yes there is a system development life cycle There isn't so much connecting to concepts to concepts for about 1/3 of the exam, but for the rest with understanding the functions of pieces of code as well as diagrams and algorithm and...

    does anyone here do software

I do it, programming is fun but there is heaps of work on the theory and I would say it is more risky of an exam then IPT cause you have all the algorithm questions, I generally do quite while at them but still. And the syllabus is MASSIVE

Word that covers goods and services?

Does anyone have a word that I can use instead of 'goods and services'? My textbook uses product, but that doesn't sound correct... Thinking of 'outputs of the production process' but that is even longer :( Thanks!

What's up with 'contemporary business issues'?

So I get that we have to know case studies for business, but I am a bit confused on what I have to known about contemporary issues - for example looking at the syllabus for operations: examine contemporary business issues to... ...discuss the balance between cost and quality in operations...

    How many resources for notes?

Great advice, I think that most of the reason my notes are so so long right now is cause a lot of the information is the same but phrased differently, I'm thinking to make my base notes then create a more concise summary for each topic. Also every time there is a sentence in my textbook I think...

Hey guys, first of all lets get keen for the HSC next year :headbang: How many resources should you be using at once to make your notes? I saw some tips from this guy who got 99.95 on the Matrix education blog and he said you should always have 5 resources in front of you that you read...
