Wow. How did you manage without trial and error?
  2. W

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

I agree. The ICAS Mathematics Competition has a lot of trial and errors. By the way, what do you guys think the cut-offs for Credit, Distinction and High Distinction are this year?

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

To be honest, Paper J is much harder than Paper H. They have a lot of common questions. In fact, I believe that you'll be able to do most of the questions if you have the time. Does anyone have a copy of the paper to upload? I need to check some of my answers. I think I made a few other silly...

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

Yeah, I know. I managed to get the diameter, but I didn't half it to get the radius because I misread the question.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

You're allowed to keep the papers? By the way, thanks for finding the question and posting it up. So, I just made the most careless mistake ever. I'm so pissed at myself.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

Crap! That was only question that I attempted out of the last five questions and I still go it wrong because of some stupid mistake.
  7. W

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

I checked my paper as well. LOL.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

Wow. Way to go. Do you think that this year's competition was a lot easier that last year's? I remember struggling with the first question last year. LOL.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

I think that there are more numbers to the question. From what I remember, it also said the added number will not change the mean. I think the answer is 5.5, assuming I didn't misread the question. What did you get for Question 37, which asked about the volume of the rectangular prism and the...

Sorry, but I can't help you at the moment. I've got my Trials. :(

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

I don't remember any of these questions. Did you do the Year 12 paper (Paper J)?
  12. W

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

LOL. Wtf? You changed his post in your reply. Have you checked your grammar by the way? It seems way worse than anyone I've seen in high school. Good luck becoming a doctor with that grammar.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

    I'm really confused now.

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

So, what does Recondit mean by "I smell Omed in this thread?"
  15. W

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

    Who or what is Omed?

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

I believe that it is too late to do any more competitions. Most of them have already passed. Also, what do you mean by "don't be dogs?" No one has said or done anything for them to be called "dogs."

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

Ok. I shall try my best to do every question. Last year, I did better in the Australian Mathematics Competition than in this one. Weird, considering it's easier and doesn't test mathematical ability as much. I remember last year, I spent so much time on the first question, which was about...

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

That's really interesting. Does the Australian Mathematics Competition about two weeks ago test mathematical ability? So from what you've said, I won't need to worry too much about the last ten questions. From what I remember, all questions are worth 1 mark each, right? By the way, are you...
  19. W

    ICAS Mathematics Competition

Wow. So much questions... The competition is tomorrow during school time, so obviously it is too late to pay to participate. If you do the competition, you do get a certificate of Participate, although if you do well, you can get higher certificates, just like any other competition.

A handy tip that I've learnt from other users and threads is that the amount of ways a number can be expressed as the sum of consecutive integers is the product of the powers of it's prime factors plus one respectively.
