How To: Destro a years worth of work in 5 easy steps

Re: How To: Destroy a years worth of work in 5 easy steps you don't need to know how to count to pass maths.. few questions (i would say almost zero, if not zero) actually require mental arithmetic. remember you have a calculator.

    Most important concepts?

just plug and chug into formula on the formula sheet and hope you get it right.. also rote learn some of the smaller dot points and hope they ask you the exact dot point.. though obviously, you shouldn't be using this approach.

SAM should have a school rank slot

the point is you are not supposed to put in that raw 65 into sam, you are meant to put in your predicted hsc mark. it cannot and does not predict your hsc marks from your school marks. those subject are there. (but either way, i'm not an admin) well, i guess it depends on how much detail you...

Does the external mark have affect on the internal mark for UAI?

if you are ranked low at school, but then do better than others in the externals, then this will disadvantage your internal marks, by how much is determined by how everyone at your school goes in that subject.

    UAI marks!!!!

tommykins is entirely correct. school marks are meaningless. so yeh, in reply to the original post i would also say, "why not?"

SAM should have a school rank slot

i have thought about such a thing you propose, but i think that it should not be part of sam but rather something separate, because what sam does is pretty accurate at what it does. but a system you propose is not. what sam says is true within about at most 1 UAI %. but the system you propose...

    Foilo Help need please

you can grap my folio from here, but they are not as relevant to someone doing timber). its graphics industries, not timber and furniture industries, but the kinds of things your are meant to put in are exactly the same.

    uai uai uai uai help.

technically this is wrong.. but its close to it. they don't just hand out the marks in order, rather they change the school assessment marks so that between the exam marks and school assessment marks the mean and max mark are the same.

    '07 answers?

Re: 回复: Re: '07 answers? http://www.hsccoaching.com/Resources/2007%20Ext1.pdf (there is also my exam script http://andrew.harvey4.googlepages.com/07HSCMathExt1Script_17807706.pdf but not all answers are correct! so don't use this, use the ones mentioned above.)

Scaling for hard subjects seems to go down?

yes! well said. because the UAI is a rank. if they scaled down every course by 10000% its the same as 1%, because the UAI is a relative measure. so you need to compare the scaled marks to other subjects.. but the actual scaled mark doesn't matter.

Dependent / Independent variable question - HELP!

crap. sorry, i meant to say C. but at least its got you thinking about it now.
  14. me121

Dependent / Independent variable question - HELP!

I would say definitely C. because remember, you are only meant to change 1 variable at the time.. since you are comparing AM and FM, that is the variable (type of signal) that you must change. and as you can only change 1 variable, your not meant to change the location as well at the same time...

    Dimensions Movie

http://dimensions-math.org/Dim_E.htm WOW! The mathematics they show in this film is really cool! I would encourage anyone and everyone who has an interest in mathematics to watch it. I certainly enjoyed every second of it (well perhaps not the parts where they spoke from historical...

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

no necessarily.. because perhaps if he screws up, then maybe he will still be the highest.. though i don't think that you can "screw up" by that many marks..
  17. me121

    Explanation of HSC Marks (Moderating)

no. in general you will not get the 20th external mark as your internal. see http://community.boredofstudies.org/showpost.php?p=3465156&postcount=260 the more or less part is more correct that saying you will. because as noted above it will not in general be exactly the same.. however it...

Does your school have this rule?

a similar saga happened at my school. what it ended up comming down to was that students were effectivly getting two picks at the cherry. what i mean is that they basically got it marked, then changed it and submitted it for the final submission. The thing that made this a problem was that...

    imo 2008

yeh. i know they are. its just that i think that everyone should be told about it and given the opportunity to attend (which is the case), but i think that schools could do more to help students to get involved. i'm sure at james ruse they tell you about it. but from my government non-selective...
