    Turn up to any lecture

Hahahah, that's a nice way of putting it. But seriously though, I hate it when the lecture room is overcrowded and I can't find a seat because of people who don't goto their own lectures.

    Feel Like i Dont Belong

First year is always tough, especially because first year-ers are generally pretty up themselves and full of flares, it will eventually die down after a semester or two and people will seem more approachable.

    I need help please :(

Do some research, google "uts insearch" and see the atar requirement for different disciplines. I do not know but if you really care to find out I am sure you can. The alternative path is going to tafe, then uni with advance standing.

Transferring into a Combined Commerce/Law Degree with Commerce (Lib Stds)

If you did non-commerce subjects (e.g. arts) as part of your commerce (liberal) then you will prolong it. You can avoid this by doing only commerce subjects in the 1st yr.

    Perspective: Law student

I despise the way you type. Just type in everyday language. :/ Anyway, law is probably the most relaxing degree after commerce. Fail rate at unsw is less than 5%, possibly due to the fact that only high-achievers get in, but still very low. Contact hours is generally around 14. Typically you...

    Law students (only) :D

It always crack me up when lawyers call each other friends when they really aren't. Anyway, law school is ok..pretty laidback compared to other faculties, although I hated it during my first 1.5 yrs in law and wanted to drop it several times. Still, I am not aspiring to be a corporate lawyer...

Is commerce/law better at Usyd or UNSW???

The rumour is that commerce is better at unsw, whilst law is better at usyd. I've been in unsw law for 3 years and I don't see why it is practical at all :/ The only compulsory 'practical' thing is that we have to go to kingsford legal centre for 5 hours for one of the core courses. The...

Urgent - Can this course be done as a "free option"???

My understanding is that "free option" must be taken from the faculty that's telling you to do it. For the comm/science degree, there are prescribed number of units required from the ASB and science faculty, remainder courses (aka free options) that are leftover credits are to be taken from...

    Getting into Law...

UAC guide will tell you everything. Generally 90+ is a must. Bonus marks is not applicable for law except for the access scheme (for disadvantaged students). My memory tells me that rural students receive bonus marks, but I am not too sure so ask around you school.

    My advise to first years

I HATE group assignments. Even if I can get a good group. The organisation is just too much effort and disporportionate to weighting or whatever it's worth. Not to mention the unfairness of marks and so on. I suppose I don't mind if they make the marks maximisable. As in if you do better in...
