did economics, got 89 which i wasn't particularly happy with. 91 internal though. i don't think my atar is good enough for science (adv maths) (98.3 or so last year) so does that mean i either have to spend extra time at uni or else i can't do it?

No it's because the ATAR is a percentile of people who started year 7 (or maybe completed year 10). All drop outs account for the bottom 20-30%.

do it if you want, i did it. waiting on the results to come in. sucks how they make you pay for a results check if you only want raw marks. but whatever, hopefully they lost an english essay or my industrial option for chem haha

no... they just cycle through your preferences. don't make 1st pref? they try 2nd, dont make that? they try 3rd etc. etc. until you get in or run out of preferences which wont happen with 89 ATAR as long as you dont fill them all up with Law, commerce, science stuff like that @usyd/unsw

do other schools dux off atar? that's odd, ours just do it off of trials since everyones left when atar comes around. also, it's quite common for people to get the same atar so you'd have more than one dux which is weird.

seconded, screw the board of studies. ordered a recheck and raw marks for 3 subjects. probably won't get anything, but i want those damn raw marks to see wtf happened and get some closure on those shitty hsc exams and hsc marking....

oh atar calculators were ALL under what i got. best i think was 95.90 and i got 96.00. but some predicted 95.50.
