    Modern history all nighter

Wouldn't it be better if you went to bed at 12 and got up at 6am instead? I'm doing personality now and WWI tonight :( I still am not up to scratch with USA imo so Im praying for a consumerism question.

Official: 2013 Modern History HSC Exam predictions thread

I'm nervous about wasting time on the Geneva Conference since it was asked in 2009… they might ask about the Tet Offensive again, which was only asked in 06 or the development of US policies D: This is taking ages though…

Official: 2013 Modern History HSC Exam predictions thread

I do USA :( I'm concentrating on social tensions (not industrialisation/urbanisation because it was asked last year), foreign policy and causes of the Great Depression. I'm so worried they'll ask yet another question about the Depression/strategies to solve it– my hopes are on consumerism...

Official: 2013 Modern History HSC Exam predictions thread

How many dot points are you guys studying for each module? I've done three so far for USA, and might pick a fourth soon.
  5. C

    Dat 7 marker.

That isn't the syllabus list of contemporary issues though– I already posted the list from the syllabus, and child soldiers is one of them.
  6. C

    Handwriting!

I've heard off two HSC English markers that they will overlook simple mistakes, but if there are numerous errors, your marks will be affected.
  7. C

    Multiple Choice

I got 18/20 for the MC if 20 is indeed B. Still fuming after the exam though– I know I'll be getting like 10 or 11 for the short answers. I panicked on the peace rights question and recalled the right to peaceful assembly from one of the Bill of Rights documents, and put that down –.–
  8. C

    Dat 7 marker.

Issues could include: – genocide – treatment of refugees – asylum seekers – child soldiers – abuse of children – torture – capital punishment – arbitrary detention – religious discrimination – discrimination against women – exploitation of workers – human trafficking and slavery –...

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

No, just negotiation– not sanctions. I used the AU's negotiations with Kenya to stop the genocide in 2008 as an example.
  10. C

    Dat 7 marker.

Like what contemporary issues are right? They're all listed in the syllabus.

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

Discretion is in the themes isn't it? It was the very first thing we learnt about lol! perfect question.
  12. C

    Multiple Choice

I know, but the question said review, not appeal, so I wasn't really sure @.@
  13. C

    Multiple Choice

I did the Drug Court because it said 'review' and not 'appeal', and i figured an appeal would go to the Supreme Court anyway. Doesn't matter, I fucked up both peace rights and education.
  14. C

    Crime Extended Response

I wrote about purposes of punishment– mainly rehab in the Drug Court, appeals and circle sentencing, then contrasted these with the impacts of removing discretion in mandatory sentencing (the people smuggler one) and preventative detention (I don't think i should have included this )

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

What would be the approx. raw mark that would align to a band 6? Like 85?

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

For non-legal mechanisms in world order I discussed Negotiation, compliance, cooperation (as facilitated through sovereignty), jus cogens, R2P and I talked about Amnesty International getting the Arms Trade Treaty adopted by the GA. For legal i mentioned the Australian external affairs power...

    Multiple Choice

I did B! I was pretty certain it has a magistrate.
  18. C

    Multiple Choice

    I did D for 17.
  19. C

    General Thoughts: Legal Studies

Umm, I don't think you were supposed to write about that, but I'm not too sure.
