    Comparative Grades between Universities (NSW)

For some degrees where there is not huge demand (eg Law), unis will generally set the cutoff at the lowest they believe a student needs to succeed in the degree (ie pass). Hence if Uni A sets a cutoff of 85 for a degree, and Uni B sets a cutoff of 70, then you do the maths.

Is it possible to get another offer after accepting one from the same university?

Yes, but UAC only ever gives you your highest allocatable preference in any round. If you got pref 1 in an early round, you will never get another offer unless you change your preferences between rounds. Read the UAC FAQ.

Re: Is special precedent granted to people who place a degree as their first preferen UAC gives you your highest allocatable preference. No priority is given to people with higher prefs. Consider this scenario Student A has ATAR 94.9. She puts medicine as pref 1 and science as pref 2...

Questions regarding enrolling the courses (as a new international student)

You can select your units of study any time between now and start of class in beginning of March. However it is much better to have it done by about 1 Feb to maximise your timetable flexibility (timetable release just after that). As an international student, the system will force you to...

    Future Leaders and Dux Scheme

The publicly available information is at http://sydney.edu.au/study/admissions/pathways-to-study/alternative-entry.html, it does not include possible cutoffs. My advice to all applicants 1: The chances of entry if you dont apply are zero 2: The chances of entry if you do apply are greater...

Transferring externally from UNSW to USYD

You are assessed on the better of your original high school ATAR, and an ATAR equivalent calculated from the GPA of any previous tertiary attempt of at least one year's duration. Since ATAR cutoffs change from year to year, there is no fixed GPA that can be quoted to you, but the conversions...

Starting the semester with a tutorial

Read http://www.maths.usyd.edu.au/u/UG/TU/YR1ADMIN/r/MATH1901.pdf Some tutorials do start in week 1. Do not assume they don't, but a decent lecturer will ensure students know if there is a tute or not.
